Lowest miles on an '04 ?????? I'm at 8,000.
I bought my '04 TL in December 2004 and just broke 8,000 miles. Anyone else with less or close to it? My other cars get driven about as much.

It's not that I don't want to, I wish I could. I commute on a train mon-fri. I try to drive it as much as I can on the weekends unless the weather's bad. No reason to get it dirty.

... not to be an ass...
But I think I'd do something better with my money than pay a note on a car I never get to drive. You'll have it paid off with less than 10K miles, but it'll still be greatly de-valued.
I bought a wannabe luxury car becasue I commute 80 miles a day. It's my other home, and thus justified.
Your money though...

I was just thinkin...
If you don't need a commuter car, I'd swap that TL out in a minute for something sportier. If all you drive is the weekends, get a custom chopper or some classic muscle... ya know, something really fun.
The TL is a nice a car, but it most certainly is not an investment. Keeping it fresh does little to retain it's value.
I've got a 2000 Xterra that's completely 4x4x'd up with only 30K on it. Lift, 32's, Steel bumper, the works. Only reasons I won't sell it is.
1) I already have a Harley V-Rod, don't need more toys.
2) Truck was paid off in 2002 when it was the daily driver.
3) I'll never get rid of it due to the extreme 4x4x crap all over it.
Sorry for presenting my opinion, you asked it in a public forum.
The point if my post is to make conversation and communicate with other TL guys... or is this too off topic subinf?

I dont really give a shit what you type, though the thread was about how many miles some of the members had on their 04 TL. Feel free to start a new thread on how people should spend their money, if you are really interested you can click on the Off Topic link and post in Money and Investing.

Even though I dont put a lot of miles on the TL it fits my needs perfectly. I have 3 small kids that get carted around all weekend and I wanted something sporty with a nav. system. I'm sure a large amount of people on this forum would disagree with you on this car not being "really fun."
Name a better sports sedan for the money?

I have a 2 year old, and another on the way as well, that's why we're trading in the wife's accord for the odyssey.
Certainly not saying the TL isn't fun either...
Kid(s) don't go in the TL much at all... Something about the gummy hands and parchement leather don't mix.
I guess my thoughts are, if I had a job I rode the train to... and the wife had a "family truckster" to cart the kids around in, and a warm and a cozy garage that needed filling... I'd have a serious weekend toy instead.
I'd be hunting up a vette, charger srt-8, m3/5, G35 coupe... something seriously fun.
No doubt the TL rocks, but it is still just a 260 HP 4 door sedan, no matter how you color it. But certainly concur, if you need to haul around the fam, the TL's a nice choice.
I guess I'm approaching my midlife crisis way to early, and am beginning to long for a real sportscar and a shorter commute to work.
Keep rockin.

September 1st 06 - NHBP - 5,900 mi.
Drove it every day since I bought it until I got rear ended over Christmas, and then I was sent to Singapore for 3 months for business (Still here). All in all, it's been about 4-5 months total I haven't been able to drive my car. It's a shame too, she begs to be driven. And I'm more than happy to oblige.
Looking forward to coming back to the States though.

My '04 TL just passed 8000mi. Michael calls it a Garage Queen, but I think King would be better. It's not that I don't like to drive the car, I drive a Honda to work and when the weather is bad. My TL has never seen rain or snow, is usually covered in the garage, and still has the smell of a new car. Got the front seats replaced with "05 skins, cushions, and heater elements, so the car looks absolutely factory new..actually better since using Zaino made the Anthracite color darker, deeper, and nothing like it did when it came from the factory. Anyone having Anthracite should try 3-4 coats of Zaino..it's amazing what it does to this color.

I'll agree with the person who said that these cars are made to be driven
My 04 had almost 36k miles in <22 months before it was traded for an 06.
06 already has 4k miles, and it only been in the driveway for 6 weeks.
