Angry Warranty+service=Horrible!!

Sorry pics didn't work out last time!!
So here it goes...
After I got home from school, I put my stuff back inside my house, and washed my car. AND I FOUND MY front windshield was cracked. There was no crack when I got home, and I never hit any chip or stones. So I think it maybe caused by the cold water spread on a hot windshield? But after I washed mine, I washed my dad's lexus and toyota, their windshield were fine??? So I don't know if it's the quality of the windshield or it's because of the hot weather. But it was not something like I hit it. So I took it to the Lougheed Acura Dealer(where I purchased my car), I mentioned this to a lady at the service encouter, she checked, and said, this was hit by some small chip, or must have hit something. So I asked her to show me where the hole is if I DID hit it(which I did not), she look around for about 10 sec, and pointing to a very very very very tiny little hole? or maybe I would say a scratch? Caz it is only around 0.5mm which is less than 0.1 cm. And I said my car was in a stop motion, how can I hit it? So I asked her that I want to talk to a manager, manager came, and look for an even longer time to find that tiny scratch(or hole?) on the crack. And I said I did not hit anything, the car was in a stop motion. But he just refused me. So I was kinda pissed, then I said, what about the leather? I have butt print, wrinkles on the seat and wools coming out from the leather's tiny holes??? AND HE SAID IT'S NORMAL. I was very fed up, and started to argue with him, he said it's not defective so he doesn't want to fix it, but I don't understand, why would 05 TL add two supporter in the seat if the 04 ones were perfect? And he said some guy from the factory will be here next week, and he would give me a call when that guy is here. He wanted that guy to check if it's defective. Then I left.
Then I use voice command to find another dealer, which I had to drive 30 mins to get there, it's NorthShore Acura Dealer. And mentioned the same thing to a gentlement at service department, he looked very nice and polite. He checked and verify this is the quality of the windshield so he said he can replace it for free under warranty. So I was very happy, so I just ask him a quick question about the leather, and he said no one has responded this before, but, "let me see what I can do for you". I was very satisfied with this gentleman's attitude. On the other hand, I am very pissed at my original dealer, where I purchased my car and done two services there, and I was even talking to a manager. Then I told him, it's okay, we will deal the leather later. So he filed my personal information on his computer, and made an appointment with him at NorthShore.
I am just really mad about why norshore can do it, and verified it as quality problem, and my Lougheed dealer(orginal) only told me how it was occured and was not looking a solution to it? and only told me they can help me to repair it with about $1200 canadian for the windshield.
When I got home, I phoned my uncle, who is a manager working at Lexus in LA. And he told me there shall be no warranty on windshield no matter what.
But my orginal dealer said it cannot covered by warranty because it was hit, and the other dealer can fix it for free. So I think there was no warranty issue.
Also, I just noticed my rubber at the sides of windshield was not attatached to the windshield?? When they checked, they didn't even touched the rubber, so I don't know how did that happened.
I just don't get it, why the other dealer can help me fix it, and my Lougheed Acura Dealer cannot and tought I was lying? It does not cause them money, they only have to report to Canada Acura, to replace the windshield.
And another one of my friend's 02 TL got his cd stucked in the cd player, and Lougheed refused to fix it because he said that CD was copied??? What's wrong with that? So he went to another dealer, and done fixing it!!!
I just want to say I really regret bought TL at Lougheed Acura and did services there. They just don't seem very friendly compared to Northshore, very very very big difference in their attitudes. Their attitudes and services are just so terrible. I should have puchased it at NorthShore or other places. So from now on, I'd rather do services at NorthShore(30mins drive) instead of LOUGHEED(10 mins drive). But I can't borrow a courtesy for free we can only borrow it for free if we puchased at the dealer ..
I am just reminding and giving my experiences to people living in Vancouver.
I'm glad I can fix it under warranty at the NorthShore.
By the way, does it look like it was hit?
AND IF I hit some chip or stone while I was driving, I would just pay for it even it's $1200. No need to lie

The hole they claimed..0.05mm. You can compare it to the black shaded dot beside it to see how tiny it is... And it is so tiny that my camera almost attached to the windshield. It seems to be a split from the crack.

As for the difference in dealerships, it happens. Dealerships can handle issues differently due to "Acura" not really having a say in what they do. Sure, one would think "warranty" would be warranty. It all comes down to the relationship the dealership service and or parts manager has with the regional Acura representative. Some are able to go to bat for you more than others.. I guess a better way of saying it would be some service managers are more willing to "pry" warranty claims out of the Acure reps than others. I know some just don't want to even try.... Like yours, don't bother supporting them.

I bought my car at lougheed and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the manager of the service department and the staff. I actually bought my car from the owner rather than from salesperson. The owner is their everyday and if you have serious concerns go and ask to speak with him. He told me that one of his main conerns is to make sure all customers are satisfied with the service at the dealership. I have complained about several rattles and the condition of my seats and they have gone the extra mile fixing all of the issues. I think you need to relax take a deep breath and go talk to the owner. Im sure all your problems will be taken care of.

are you familiar with the owner?
I know that owner is a chinese guy whos' dad owns richmond's acura.
If you are familiar with him. Please tell him about their services can be better Then I would just do service closer!!
When I argued for a long time, he saw, and he was walking around holding a coffee..

maybe you bought it off from the owner, that's why they are nice to you ... that's just what i think....
It was a Manager named Gary
I talked to the inspector at counter, she checked and she can't solve my problem, so I talked to the manager, even the manager can't solve the problem. People can't just talk to the owner everytime, it's manager's duty, that's what he is for!! He is more rational and have more experience.
Of course I don't want cause any uncessary saddness between me and the dealer, but it just can't be acceptable, I DID NOT BREAK IT, IF I DID I WOULD PAY!!
Hope you can let the owner know if he is a good friend of yours or I will let him know on the survey....

I bought from Lougheed and on my A1 service I mentioned the tire vibration issue (Bridgestone ELs) to see what kind of response I'd get. The service department insisted this was the tire manufacturer's issue to deal with and I should contact them. I didn't push it but felt like any future issues would be difficult to address with Lougheed Acura. I may give them one more chance and then book my next appointment at North Shore and see how that goes as I have the third break light rattle.

Exclamation Jury is still out

I also bought at Lougheed. I've dealt with the owner and service manager but have not had enough experience to either praise or slam them. We'll soon see since there are some service issues with my car.

So far all the techs who worked on my car have been customer-centric but the other day when I was there, a tech or lot-boy was bitching to one of the service clerks about how a customer (not me) expected him to do something trivial and he was moaning about it. Was I invisible? I couldn't believe he did this in front of me. I wanted to say to him "hey idiot these are Acuras not Kias now get with the program". If it were my dealership he'd be in a customer relations course. It's these sort of incidents that tarnish the customers service experience.

I hope the dealership is monitoring this carefully because LOTS of people have already read this thread and many people check this forum before buying their cars.

I am glad to hear the people at North Shore will replace your windshield. I think if they can fix it under warranty then it shows it was an improper install or there must be a defect. It's disturbing to think there's a difference from one dealer to another when it comes to warranty repairs.

So I asked her to show me where the hole is if I DID hit it(which I did not), she look around for about 10 sec, and pointing to a very very very very tiny little hole? or maybe I would say a scratch? Caz it is only around 0.5mm which is less than 0.1 cm. And I said my car was in a stop motion, how can I hitted it? So I asked her that I want to talk to a manager, manager came, and look for an even longer time to find that tiny scratch(or hole?) on the crack. And I said I did not hit anything, the car was in a stop motion. But he just refused me. So I was kinda pissed, then I said, what about the leather? I have butt print, wrinkles on the seat and wools coming out from the leather's tiny holes??? AND HE SAID IT'S NORMAL. I was very fed up, and started to argue with him, he said it's not defective so he doesn't want to fix it, but I don't understand, why would 05 TL add two supporter in the seat if the 04 it's perfect? And he said some guy from the factory will be here next week, and he would give me a call when that guy is here. He wanted that guy to check if it's defective. Then I left.
Then I use voice command to find another dealer, which I had to drive 30 mins to get there, it's NorthShore Acura Dealer. And mentioned the same thing to a gentlement at service department, he looked very nice and polite. He checked and verify this is the quality of the windshield so he said he can replace it for free under warranty. So I was very happy, so I just ask him a quick question about the leather, and he said no one has responded this before, but, "let me see what I can do for you". I was very satisfied with this gentleman's attitude. On the other hand, I am very pissed at my original dealer, where I purchased my car and done two services there, and I was even talking to a manager. Then I told him, it's okay, we will deal the leather later. So he filed my personal information on his computer, and made an appointment with him at NorthShore.
I am just really mad about why norshore can do it, and verified it as quality problem, and my Lougheed dealer(orginal) only told me how it was occured and was not looking a solution to it? and only told me they can help me to repair it with about $1200 canadian for the windshield.
When I got home, I phoned my uncle, who is a manager working at Lexus in LA. And he told me there shall be no warranty on windshield no matter what.
But my orginal dealer said it cannot covered by warranty because it was hitted, and the other dealer can fix it for free. So I think there was no warranty issue.
Also, I just noticed my rubber at the sides of windshield was not attatached?? When they checked, they didn't even touched the rubber, so I don't know how did that happened.
I just don't get it, why the other dealer can help me fix it, and my Lougheed Acura Dealer cannot and tought I was lying? It does not cause them money, they only have to report to Canada Acura, to replace the windshield.
And another one of my friend's 02 TL got his cd stucked in the cd player, and Lougheed refused to fix it because he said that CD was copied??? What's wrong with that? So he went to another dealer, and done fixing it!!!
I just want to say DON'T buy cars at Lougheed Acura Dealer and DON'T do services there. Trust me it's not worth it, they just don't seem very friendly compared to Northshore, very very very big difference in their attitudes. Their attitudes and services are just so terrible. Buy it at NorthShore or other places. So from now on I would rather do services at NorthShore(30mins drive) instead of LOUGHEED(10 mins drive). But I can't borrow a courtesy for free we can only borrow it for free if you puchased at the dealer

The hole they claimed..0.05mm. You can compare it to the black shaded dot beside it to see how tiny it is... And it is so tiny that my camera almost attach to the windshield to me it is a split from the crack...!!!

My dad's Lexus RX 330, which is 3 years old...(caz he ordered it from Japan in 02)
and my 04 TL is only 10k km(1 year old)...


TL is still my favorite But their services shall be improved.(Typical example: Lexus); saw so many people complained about their services

I am just reminding and giving my experiences to people living in Vancouver.
Glad I can fix it under warranty at NorthShore.
By the way, does it look like it was hitted?
AND IF I hitted some chip or stone while I was driving, I would just pay for it even it's $1200. No need to lie
I arugued because I affirmed it was not hitted.
