looking for upclose pics of seams & fit/finish of a-spec kit
hello,
I'd like to see some up close pics of the fit and finish where the a-spec rear lip meets up and butts up against the bumper along the back of the car...is this just a plastic against plastic fitment, or does the a-spec lip has a bead of color matched rubber to prevent scratching the bumper? I'm considering getting/installing one of these full kits but before I do would really like to see just how well it fits against the bumpers...since the front attaches so low I'm not as worried about it, but the rear appears to attach right about in the middle of the actual bumper and it's such a long straight line that it seems like there is a lot of room for incorrent attachment or for a seam/gap to easily appear...

I'm actually looking to get the sides of the kit as I have a front lip now. I was never a big fan of the rear part of the kit- as far as I know, there is no bead or rubber buffer between the rear part and the bumper. I found this pic on Google- it's a TL with the front and sides on but not the rear- I like it quite a bit:

If you're getting the kit, look at this link:

He's a Vendor on Azine with great prices.

lots of members here have the kit, I'd love to see some up close pics, taken straight on and also taken standing up above the bumper looking down at the seam...particularly on a silver TL since that's what I have...thanks.

Mine fits the same, there is no rubber, it has two sided tipe to hold it to the rear cover along with 4 screws so there is no rubbing.
And why would you get the front and sides with no rear?! Thats like getting head and then having to go to the bathroom to finish yourself! The rear lip is the best looking one!

I hate to say this guys but you are all wrong. I bought my kit new and both the front and rear lips have a thin gray gasket that runs along the top of each piece. I don't have a pic of my car close up to show you but i can.

yea, mine is just an '06 Base, not Type-S. From the looks of these pics it is about as perfect of a fit as I could want. I dont even see any gaps whatsoever in the seam along the rear bumper where it meets the lip.
So, it sounds like I've got nothing to worry about, other than getting it ordered and installed.

yea no gasket on the back of mine either my front did have a rubber piece in the center that is under the license plate but i baught it used and had to get it painted and they took it of cant really tell anyways that little strip isnt gonna do much anyways. The aspec rear looks awesome to me better in person than the pics show i think it makes the rear end and gives it better shape, id go with the rear if i was you you wont regret it. btw on ebay there is a dealership here local in va selling a front a spec under spoiler new for 150

I have a type s and mine has the rubber lip all around. It goes for who evere installs it also, shitty installer means shitty fitment. Took me around 15 hrs to do
mine. I've never done one b4 and I wanted it to be perfect. I don't know if you have to drill holes for a base aspec, but for the type s aspec I had to drill like 7 or 9 holes in the rear bumper and 6 I believe in the front bumper.
If your not good at installing things I can see how someone can easily fuk up an install on one of these kits.
My car is not my everyday driver, so I had plenty of time to take off the bumpers and do the proper reading of the instructions before I even thought about drilling any holes.

Mine is an 06 as well and I have no rubber gasket. i think its safe to say the Type-S is the only one that does.
