Looking for a body shop to install my a-spec kit in the nyc or Long Island area. Went to a few places , got some crazy quotes like a $1000-1200 for install. Wanted to know if anyone had theirs done cheaper at a shop.

 

1000-1200 dollars just to install it ???? Holy crap tell them to take a hike ! Even the dealerships do it for WAYYYYYYYY less than that.

 

I guess they tried seen you coming ... since you're a young guy...

The dealer would probably charge you b/w $200 and $300 for the install...
A private body shop shouldn't charge you more than what the dealer would... keep looking around (and take the instructions from the 3G Garage so you can show them the extent of the install) or just get a quote from an Acura Dealership...


Do it Yourself... it's not that complicated... all you need is an extra set of hands... and better double sided tape....

The A-Spec body kit is typically $1300 INSTALLED from the 3-4 dealers I shopped. I've seen the kit go for $725 (uninstalled) in GB here. Considering the dealer pays even less than that for the kit, that's $6-700 in labor/profit they're charging.

Considering ONLY the rear bumper has to come off, it's a 3-4 hours job. They shouldn't charge more than $400.

DIY, the instructions are written so a monkey can install it.

 

I showed them the instructions. I couldn't believe what they said. I just walked away shaking my head.

 

Try contacting Paragon Acura, someone here got it install for about 150, I think. But like the others mention its really straight forward installing, a little handy and follow instructions, you can do it.. If you would like to do it yourself..I could help you out
