Looking for Good Rotors and Brake Pads for 2005 Acura TL

Hello Folks,

I am new to this forum. I have a 2005 Acura TL that needs new rotors and brake pads. I am looking for really good rotors and brake pads that I can buy on my own and have a local mechanic/ car shop install them.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
CP

Hello and welcome to AZ!

I noticed there was another thread on the page about brake pads, perhaps this will help you:

How many miles did you get out of your original pads?

I suggest getting the Duralax CMAX pads. Best pads for the buck IMO. I still have mine for over 50k and still works like new + it has almost no brake dust.

I've got OEM blanks and CMAX pads. They feel more or less stock and dust a hell of a lot less. Perfect for a DD imo.

And there is a lifetime warranty! When they wear out you get a new pair.

i'd get the gold cmax if i had the base tl, but not if i have a type s...i hear it eats rotors too much cuz of its hard compound which is also why the pads last so long, plus the braking performance is a bit short of oem.

I bought the rotor and pad kit from Brakemotive, who's a vendor here on Azine (I think they still are). I got slotted and drilled rotors, zinc plated, and the kit was $179 shipped (for all four wheels). I've put 16k miles on them so far, and no noticeable wear. This is for the AT car.
