Looking to buy used 2004

Have opportunity to buy used with 6400 miles and navigation. Looks to be in great shape. Can possibly get for $30k. Any opinions as to how good a deal this is for the Carolinas?

Any other opinions on deals in the Carolinas are appreciated. Thanks

30K is so-so price, lately since dealers are trying to clear out 04 TL's 2 posters were able to get navi TL's for high 32K, you can probably find one for 33K if you look on the east coast. i don't think getting a used one at 30K is worth the money because you can spend a little bit more and get a brand new one. i know 6400 is not much mileage at all. but in order for someone try to sell me a current model sedan he would have to be willing to take a pretty big hit. simply because its not worth it to me to pay almost full price for a used car(even tho its still basically new) when i can get it from the dealer at almost the same price brand new.

5AT

Desert Mist

Had new tires put on - owner mentioned this specifically b/c of problems with TL's have with originals. I think they are michelins but can't recall specifics.

Don't have VIN handy

Imho...

If 04TLers like to sell theirs, most of them will ask more than 30k for the price.

Basically, it's way too expensive. I didn't mean our cars aren't worth that price, however, the first year-price is always fiddly and delicate.

Since you could get brand new car with 2-4k more, it's good to have new one instead if those owners insist on that high tag.

Try to make it lower if you really like it. 28K or lower...

Thanks for the insight. Problem that I am having is that in my neck of the woods (Charlotte, NC) there don't seem to be too many good deals to be had.

Another question - should I be willing to pay more for a used TL to a dealer if it is certified? Local dealer has one with 4400 (no navi). Obviously listed way too high but am trying to get a guage as to a fair price.

Any suggestions about where to go in my general vicinity (SE US) would be very helpful. Thanks again.

I was faced with the same situation. After checking out
Ramsey Acura in northern NJ, I was offered a demo model. Basically
they told me that every salesman get their own model, and they go out
with potential customers for a test drive. Anyway, this demo model was White
with gray interior, 5AT, NAvigation, Full body Kit, Lip spoiler, Sunroof Visor, all
season mats and Trunk mat. About 5,000 in accesories. It also had 6500 miles on it. All for 33,750. I was gonna bite the bait, but decided to get a BRAND NEW one with navigation for $1,200 less, from another dealer. I also have the all season mats and the trunk tray. Eventually next spring I will spoil myself and get the bodykit.
Its your call. It just makes sense that for a few grand more you can get something brand new, and treat it right from day one.

In addition the VIN# was 11,xxx and had the old Bridgestone tires, while the one I got is 62xxx, and has the re-formulated tires. I am sure they also tweaked / fixed some of the older issues with the lower Vin #'s.
It gives me more peace of mind.

ND93, in NY/NJ areas, we have more than a dozen of Acura dealers, it may be easier for us to negotiate price and find the appropriate deal if we're in your situation. As GRK_TL said, he did his best to make himself a happy owner.

Let's think this way, that used 04TL you're interested in buying has newer VIN and all already-updated TSBs done. With $30k (the final price without paying any tax), this could be the good one to have.

If Navi is good for you, please test drive it again into bumpy/traffic downtown/highway roads. Make sure there aren't too many issues/problems/rattles. And, check up his VIN.

If you don't care about "Navi", you "might" get the similar price with the brand new car from the dealers.

I would say always explore your options. Never let greed get in the way of patience. Just for example, i have 5AT/NAVI I will be upgrading from EL42's before selling. It has tinted windows, all season mats, 11K miles and 7/100 upgraded warranty, Nighthawk Black Pearl/Parchment, $30K. Pit dealers against eachother, do what you must, because you know salesmen will do whatever it takes to sell. Especially end of month...
