I'm looking to buy an 05 TL and looking to spend $17000 or less what should I look for in these cars to make sure I'm getting a good deal ? And what issues do these cars have that I should make sure are addressed.

I would like to have leather and the Nav system.

I just bought an 05 with 70000 miles for 15,200, so you shouldnt have a problem finding one for less than 17k. The most common probelm that Ive seen on these forums are issues with the transmission, so I would take a very close look at that before buying.

 

i just bought my 05 TL for 17500. It has 26kmiles and navi.

 

About to buy an 05 6MT with 67K for 16K. Aspec, nav, back up sensors.

 

6MT.....is that 6 speed manual transmission ?

 

What kind of tranny issues ?

the only option for the TL of that years was weather you want nav/ and the transmission. so every tl you look at will have leather. i think for that price point you can get a good deal on a relatively low mileage 05 ... good luck with the search!

What does the Navi offer other than directions ? It seems to be a expensive addition

I bought an '05 w/ 32k miles last spring. Am just now changing motor mounts at 52k. There are a lot of recommendations on here to upgrade ATF and 3rd/4th gear pressure switches as preventative maintenance for the trannys.
