I've never seen this but would love to know too. I found a huge paint chip in my 07 WDP last week. My paint chip is on the front bumper. It looks like a rock peeled my paint up and I'm not sure how to fix it.

I had a scratch on my rear bumper of my previous car and bought that kit...but unfortunately I can't report on how well it works. I traded the car in before I fixed the scratch. I still have it...but as yet it's untested. I looked through the instructions and it seems like a very easy way to fix a scratch. But the paint blending is what scared me from actually using it.

maybe you can try it on an under-part of the bumper or somewhere you can't see it

it would help us out a lot.. because i know many of us have scratches/dents

I'm gonna say negatory on the Duplicolor Kit. You can get touch up, clear coat, spot putty and abrasives anywhere.

Sorry to switch gears but what about this...http://www.langka.com/blob-eliminator-p-31.html. I don't have this but have been doing a similar thing with Acura touch up paint and automotive lacquer thinner. Basically 'blob" up the chip and come back the next day. I use a lintless shop rag with watered down automotive lacquer thinner on it. It dissolves the touch up but doesn't do anything to the original finish. So with some finesse and patience you can get the repair pretty flat. If you use too much thinner then the touch up paint comes all the way off and you have to start over again. For small chips I don't even bother with clear coat. It's not worth the hassle unless you are a perfectionist.

I'm betting that the blob eliminators "goo" is a mild lacquer thinner in a viscous base of some sort. The lower the concentration of thinner the longer it takes but patience is worth it.

There is a duplicate, if not better product here:

www.paintscratch.com

Has different kits to use, not just a pen! I'm going to try it out!

Since it won't benefit anyone else let me answer your pm'd question here, where it should have been asked:

so i guess when u say it works perfectly, you mean there is perfect blending of the paint color, like you can't even notice it there ?

where did you purchase or get your factory paint color (from dealership)?
Used it on both a deep scratch and on a few rock chips in the front bumper. It blends perfectly.........used acura paint pen.

Watch the video on the link I posted, probably would answer your questions

i just bought this today. i bought the kit from walmart and the paint from my auto parts store since walmart did not have my color and they could not sell to me since i was under 18. the kit was cheaper there. im hoping to get good results. but if you guys want i can most my experience here. but im just not sure when im gonna use it.

i also have a bottle of scratch X rubbing compound. it will work on small scratches and swirl marks but not large deep scratches. im more familiar with the 3M compound not so much the scratch X.

Well take a before and after picture........that would probably be the best. I never did it, never thought anyone would really care.

There are a lot of products listed. Too much shit for real. Somebody post some real life results (as in a member on here did it and it worked so we can see). I want to fix my imperfections, not compound it!

Thanks for the tip Lembowski. You and Jesstzn are both world reknowned detailers, but ya'll are reppin' different products. One of them is bound to get good results so I will wait and see if someone posts!

Because I'm anal, I may just wait until I can afford the clearbra install, and then do it. That way I can guarantee I won't get anymore, and won't have to do it again. I got time...

Wish I would have takin a before and after, but it blends really well. I just went out to pick up a pizza and looked at the spots and you really don't see where it was as. As on products, I'm sure they are similar I just bought this one because Patrick at Exceldetal suggested it. Was slightly scary to wetsand my baby, but I'm glad I did it.

I didn't use the pen, but used bottles and a trimmed model brush/ toothpick. I followed their directions and ...............................Holy #%*#!! I couldn't find the friggin' repair!!! Seriously, I wasn't able to find any evidence. I did this last year and didn't take pics. Make sure you use all of the paints supplied in the order they say. Finish off with the paint thinner and BAM.....GONE!!
