Long time lurker, newly registered-got my first question I need some help with

Hey just registered here but been reading the forums for about 6 months now since I got my 07 Type-S back in March. Lots of great information and I've learned so much about my car but now I've got an issue and need some input.

Long story short my driveway sucks and pulling in I caught a tree root growing out of the hill right next to my driveway. It did this...
Long time lurker, newly registered-got my first question I need some help with-nlquq.jpg

I really dont want to have to pay to paint the bumper once again, I just painted it 3 months ago because the original was looking pretty bad from rock chips and pits. My TL-S has over 150,000.00 miles!

I was thinking the A-Spec front lip might be a solution would it cover this up ?Should I have anything done to bumper before putting it on?

You may not be able to tell from the photo the bumper is slightly cracked on the bottom so dont know if that will make a difference...

Any guidence on this would be helpful untimatley I dont want to paint the bumper all over again if I could just put the A-Spec Lip on and everything would be good!

I don't see any reason why that can't be covered up with the front lip.

I was figuring it would but I wanted the opinions of someone who may have already installed the kit before and knows exactly how much of the bumper it covers. I've looked through all the posts that i could find but have a hard time telling where the kit starts and stops.

the lip will/should cover all of that. the only issue would be the paint match. shiny fresh black factory painted lip to the repainted bumper.

just don't mess up the lip by whacking into the tree root again or else you'll need a new bumper AND lip.

Well I've moved in the last week no more jacked up driveway!!

Do I need to do any prep work in that area before I put it on besides whatever normal procedures for installing the lip call for?

AckTL05 or one of the other vendors can get you one. Go to the vendors section under "Off Topic" at the top.

clean it? and wipe down the area where the lip will "stick" to the bumper with rubbing alcohol.

you may want to invest in some extra double sided foam tape for the lip to help with gaps and make sure that lip doesn't want to fall off (not that it will).

You could try wrapping it in vinyl.

I would get the aspec front lip regardless! =) Now you have a reason too! Def hit up ACK or TIM from sponsor section. They are both friendly and will have what you need. Post pics once is up tho so everyone can see!

Wow.... That's messed up. I would agree with the lip idea, but I don't think it would fare well with your driveway.

Get a front lip.

Its about 260$ shipped. PM ACKTL05 for details.

I have one on the front of my car and it pretty much is plug and play and will cover all that up. Looks like you have a Type-S too, and the Type-S front lip covers even more of the bumper than the base one. Should be easy to find pics of it on google or here in the Photo gallery.

I've moved so the driveway is no longer an issue and I'll be getting the Type-S A-Spec front lip as soon as I can. Nice smooth parking lot is all it'll be parked in!!

I did the same thing with the rear a-spec lip:

BTW: This is the lip for your front bumper. The Type-s version surrounds both grills. Everything below the line is the lip and will cover your old bumper:

yes. You can buy it here with coupon code "Galaga" for half price shipping (if the offer is still valid): http://www.oemacuraparts.com/parts-c...nder-spoiler-2

Here's a pic I found of the front lip with stock side skirts:

I like!!! Now I got a better idea of what it covers pretty much the bottom half of the bumper all the way above the fog light so I'll def be covered from what happend to my bumper...GREAT!!

By the way I cant quite figure out what the difference in the side skirts is for the type-s non aspec and the type-s aspec. I've seen so many different pics and I just cant always tell which is which could anyone show me some examples of the 2 different side skirts for the type-s so I can better understand

A-spec side skirt flare out a bit compare to stock, Type S side skirt is kinda flare out a bit more than base model and that why you having hard time to tell the difference.
