Long pointless post about complainers

Ok ladies and gents, I have a bone to pick with some of the complainers here on the forum...

I've noticed some people consistantly complaining about pretty minor details about the car they don't like (the most recent thread I read involved a complaint about black rubber being used around the windows rather than chrome)... they then proceed to end the rant by complaining that this is a $30K car and things should be perfect on a $30K car.

Well everyone, I've got news for you, there are no perfect cars, no matter the price. Some may cite the fact the TL is really expensive as a reason that it should not have faults or that every wheel should be studded with diamonds or that the leather should be hand stitched with Alligator skin. The truth, however, is that the TL is actually really really CHEAP. How many cars that are not total pieces of crap can you get for under $30K??? Not too many. So, for all those who bring up how expensive this car is, pull your heads out of your a**es and realize that it is ONLY a $30K car, and that is just not that much money.

So stop complaining that Acura cut corners on this expensive car, but realize that they had to cut some corners cause this is a pretty damn cheap car and they needed to focus on important things like good looking sheetmetal, a great engine, a really nice interior, etc...etc... If you wanna complain that the TL is no BMW 5 series, its because it isn't a $45K car (I know that 5 series bases at $36K, but it takes at least $45 to have a decently loaded one)

I'm done...thanks for reading....please proceed to flame me to death...

By the way, I want to close by saying that I LOVE MY TL and I know the silent majority out there agrees

Thanks very much. I agree people are whining too much here.
I could site some great examples but I won't.

I must say however, it's not a 30K car, it's a 33K+ car, especially with Navi. And you're 100% right about BMW. The base price on BMW and Mercedes are ridiculous. Did you want an engine with that?

And speaking of BMW, nobody, I mean NOBODY makes better motorcycles. My bike will be broken in good when the TL is scrap metal.

Expecting early Feb. delivery of NHBP/Ebony/Navi............

Re: Long pointless post about complainers

VTEC=happiness,

I know someone will love what you said here.

But, I still think everyone has right to post whatever they want. As well as their threads will wide-openly face the challenges from other ppl if the content is not so gratifying.

There is at least one complaint each month like this you've made and talking about other ppl whining too much.

IMO, stop looking those threads you don't like may be helpful.

BTW, I don't regret buying the first year model. It's fresh and good enough for me.

Also, some of ppl complaining 04TL are just because they spent big portion of their money to get this sucker. They should get 04Accord instead of 04TL.

Thanks for the feedback so far...

I do hate how much everyone complains, but I can understand where some people have points such as the bad tires, memory seats, etc...however, I think people are not appreciating all that they got in this affordable package. I also realize that part of the point of a forum like this is to discuss problems, it is just the nit picking that gets a bit old.

Rets...you have a good point about some who spent more money then they should have or were comfortable doing when they got the TL.

Look, I love the car, but the vibrations have to go, the memory seat thing is fine, and now that they figured out the check engine light was because the threashold was too tight to triger the misfire diagnostic is fine to.

Sorry if I sound like a pain, but vibrations must end, it drives me up the wall that a POS pontiac drives smoother than this car, and I do like a rock hard ride, so that is not the issue, I just dont like a shake with my fries.

No, I am not flaming, I just have one wish.

Also, part of the problem is that some of us have been on this site a long time with the 04 TL, (if that is possible), and I have been following the car since May of 03 like some others, and due to the length of time, we have heard the same complaints each time a new crew of owners comes to the board, so it does sound like a broken record, and I even find my self answering the same questions time and time again, but it does help thoes newbies to the 04tl so what the hey.

To be honest with you, I wouldn’t take this flaming/bashing/complaining too seriously. I can understand that sometimes it brings you down, but in the end people are just looking for things to nit-pick about. I deal with it everyday @ work.

I've seen allot of people complaining about tires, etc here. I don’t have my TL yet, and I don’t really car about what tires it rides on as long as I can get some decent mileage out of them.

People want to express their thoughts/and complaints about various things on their new car, but don’t ever let that dissuade you from purchasing that car providing you've done your research, etc.

I can say for certainly that I monitored this forum before I purchased my new TL, and not one complaint here came into my mind on effecting the purchase.

But face it, for 35K you’re getting a car that rates in the very high 90's. The TL was the ONLY car I looked at when I decided to purchase. And to be completely honest with you, I really hate my wife's 98 Accord. It’s a piece of crap, and I can tell you for sure that I took absolute horrible care for the car, but its still runs. And I'm talking like 40K or more between oil changes. Cuz I hate it. But this new Acura (or rather spruced up Accord) is a gem compared to that '98 Accord just outside my door.

Anyway, I'm done as I don’t know where I’m going with this. Just ranting I guess!

Ppl should learn how to use "search" feature.

I know sometimes it's hard to get the right answer from the pile high searching results, but ppl shoud try it prior to posting the new threads again and again.

I'm sure many ppl don't try it.

Time will tell. I still remember I never tried to search any answers in my first 50 posts.

Greenseed...your comments about the Accord are quite underwhelming!!! Sorry to hear how bad it is...I used to have a '94 Accord coupe and loved it, but I think the car still had a small sliver of a soul left in that year. I think you will be absolutely thrilled when you get the TL, and I look forward to hearing about the car when you do get it (please keep me updated).

Rets... I agree about the search thing...I didn't use it either...lets face it, its a lot of fun to start your own thread and see what people think (hence this thread!!).

I'm glad to hear I'm not alone with my love of the TL as well as the idea that people tend to overemphasize minor issues in this forum.

VTEC,

Actually It's not that bad of a car. It's really the tranny that I hate. Its an auto, and it shifts very weird (well at least I think so). I think if we would have purchased it with a stick, I wouldn’t be complaining. Hondas were always known to have a sweet manual tranny. I guess my point was that we beat on it and treated it badly and it never really broke.

Thats why when it asked for oil (ala the OIL light) I gave it 4 quarts to fill it up again. See how good it's been. That was like 50K miles ago. Wonder when it will get thirsty again...

All in all I think we dumped 17K on it when we bought it. It’s got 112000 miles on it and it still runs without complaints.

Sounds like its cheaper than taking the bus. The reliability of an Acord + Performance + a bit of Luxury = '04 TL

Likewise...if you don't like me rant, you don't have to comment on it. This is merely a social commentary that I am clearly trying to have fun with while proving a point. Don't take it toooooo seriously as I am trying to be a bit sarcastic while reaching a valid point.

vtech, I understand your point. A few weeks ago I also posted a thread to complain about all the complainers, and a lot of people complained about my complaint.

I agree there are SOME posts that are a little out of wack, but even a minor problem of one person some times opens up the same problem others didn`t notice or know about until read on this forum. I hope people still keep posting things that might be overlooked by others
