Went down the mod route with my last car: big brake kit, upgraded fuel injectors, custom dyno tune, supercharger reduction pulley, cat-back, free-flow intake, etc....I think I'll take it easy this time.
Oh no, I just ordered a new dead pedal. When will it end?

When installing an After Market Shock / Lowering Spring (say Koni/H&R, for example), make sure the spring perch is pointed the right way (up is up and down is down).
Other-wise, it might look like you raised you car by an inch instead of lowered it.
Then you get all freaked out and start posting threads with titles like: "WTF, My Car Looks Like a 4x4" and "Koni/H&R Looks Like Crap on My Car - Pics Inside", etc.
Don't ask me how I know this.

The front was dropped but the rear was lifted and higher than stock lol ! And this is word for word what I said -- >"WTF, My Car Looks Like a 4x4". So we had to start over .
- I installed springs only , then couple months later I had to install shocks. Should of installed everything at the same time. 150$ wasted
- Not aligning the car after changing the springs... rear tire shredded in a month.
- Then Getting the car alligned with new tires at a not so reputable shop ... One Rear tire cupped and F*cked up after another month. Alignment was way off.
- And many more to come probably ... Like someone said earlier you gotta pay to play !

I installed High quality Moleskin 3 weeks ago, I lightly sanded the rubber, wiped with Iso alcohol and used a heat gun to heat up both surfaces, now about 4" on the front pass side is coming off and glue is now on my tint. I do have some left over, so I can repalce the bad section.

I'm pretty happy with my mods.
I wouldn't gut the 3rd cat if I had it to do over again. Just no real gainst to be had on a stock engine.
Audio.... I would have spent more money at first on good stuff rather than upgrade several times.
Suspension, it's hard to say but I *might* have been better off with a Tl-S FSB instead of the H&R but that's still debatable.
Should've gotten the moleskins when I got the tint.
Should've been more careful removing the rear seat.
I would research my tire selection more carefully, especially looking at reviews that have more the 5,000 miles on them and stay away from the entire BFG line. They start out fairly quiet and at 5,000+ miles they get incredibly loud.

Wow, nobody has talked about the Innovative Engine Mounts. Definitely regret that, as the vibrations are sooo annoying, should have just installed an OEM side mount. Not like I accelerate at high speeds where i need to worry about wheel hop

Yesterday I cleared and painted my headlights... It turned out pretty well, but I had sooooo many headaches in the process. The paint didn't adhere well to the chrome, a plastic bit broke off inside the housing while resealing so I had to reopen one, I had to reopen the other cus my blinker holes were misaligned, and I left a huge-ass streak on the inside of the right lense when I tried to clean it But it all looks great installed and the streak isn't that noticeable (except to me)
I also put in my AEM CAI while I had my bumper off, following the youtube video from the DIY section. Not to knock the maker (it was very helpful) but his video told me to put the vibration mount in the wrong place (mebbe he had a different intake?) and I didn't look at AEM's directions So I put glue on the threads since it was kinda loose and I couldn't get a bolt on the other side. I ended up having to jury-rig a vib mount out of a cut up sponge, bolt and washers lol
Everything works though, and I'd do it again. Great Thread! Very useful as a preventative measure.

^ absafrigginlutely they are. I don't think there's really any way to do them perfect the first time. You just have to go at it and hope they turn out.

HAHAHAHA I did the exact same thing....after I regrounded the wires I go to put the dampener on and I was like WTF this makes no sense. Look at the AEM isntructions and back track....4 hours later I was finished!
As my first mod....I almost decided never to do another mod again...well at least I told myself that....didn't work so well

Full of water...
no major complaints with any of my mods, but none have been too invasive. had one license plate LED go out, but thats pretty much it. the most recent ones i installed were these, which was still a while ago, and they are still going strong....

That's probably why I have not done that mod yet. Still on the fence.
My only reqrets was installing the Eshift Pro-cats and Greddy EVO2 exhaust. We all know about the pro-cats. The catback was too loud for my taste. I ended up chopping it up, install Aero AR25, and replaced the mufflers with Borlas. Now she purrrrrrrsss like a kitten.
Other than that very happy with my mods!

I also had a good deal of trouble getting my stock coolant hose off... ended up having to cut the vertical end off cus that sucker was just cemented on there. Something to watch out for if you haven't put in an intake yet.
I wasn't able to apply enough force in that small space under the throttle body to put the new hose on either, but the girlfriend was able to stick the new rubber on w/her tiny hands

I guess I would agree with some others and say I regret doing the a-spec suspension first.defintely the best riding suspension of any aftermarket suspension offered but the drop sux! Should of just got the neuspeed supercup kit right from the start! As much money I've spent buyin these 2 setups, I couldve gotten tein ss with EDFC

Mods that have gone bad
Had shorter springs installed in my '05 RSX base MT and got a great lowered look (but a really stiff ride). But now all four struts are shot and need replacement for $$$. Think I should have gone with coilovers...
