You mean park to reverse to d?
Or shifting while you are driving?
Either way, it doesn't sound normal.

Mine is a 07 base TL and I just took it in to have a grind that occurrs at about 1800 rpm under load. The tech drove my car and said it is normal, I said
BS. They let me drive another 07 TL base and it did the same thing. End of my complaint. Just live with it. Definitely dissapointed i didn't catch it first along with the airbag lines on the sterring wheel, also normal, before i purchased the car. I do like the car, but expected tighter fit and finish from Acura. Have owned Lexus, BMW, Jag(xj), Nissan, and 99 RL. Fun to drive car, but should cost only about 2k over a loaded Honda Accord, not 6k.

My 2 cents.

LOL ... 2k over Accord? that would kill all the accord sales IMHO .... Honda won't do that to itself, right? I guess we have to live with this type of minor problems ....
