Is the lid spoiler worth it?!

it seems like the lid spoiler costs roughly 400 - 500 with installation. But it's so small. The IS and BMW lid spoilers are more noticeable and seem to add more style.

Your thoughts on if it's a winner add-on and the price??

Thanks

Style? How about traction. At speeds between 20-40 mph, the lip spoiler adds approximately 200 f/lbs of downforce, essential for exceptional rear stability in a front wheel drive vehicle. If you're not in this for the performance, don't bother. It's a winner!

BJ, I think you read that wrong I could have sworn it was good for 250, but you loose a little as the fuel tank drains. I might be wrong though I'll have to go back and check the manual.

oh to answer your ? who cares if anybody else thinks if its worth it. Its your car.

I think it adds just the right amount of style to the rear. If you are into big wings - get the big wing, if you want the rear naked - go commando, or in between get the lid. I agree it is pricey, but is def. noticeable.

A rear spoiler's aero functionality aid a rear wheel drive car. Putting downward force on the rear of a FWD car takes traction away from the front wheels.

It is only for style.

I have it and find that those TLs that I see without the decklid spoiler look somehow incomplete...I find it to be a good, subtle final touch.

Oh, and Roadman, BJ just threw the whole downforce thing in to continue in his effort to throw sarcasim into every thread....I enjoyed it.
