License plate relocation

Tried to search, but couldn't find anything

I'm picking up an 07 TL Type S within the next few weeks. The current seller doesn't have a front license plate on (the car is from Pennsylvania). I love the way the car looks with those A C U R A letters on the front, so when it comes time for me to put on my front plate (I'm in NY, required to have the front plate) I don't want to cover them. What are my options?

Pictures would be much appreciated

What a coincidence I bought an 07 TL Type S from Pennsylvania too! AND I live in NY so dealer installed that black license plate holder in the front.

If you are definitely going to buy the Type S make sure they dont put the black license plate holder up front. Im not sure but I think there are paint matched plugs where the license plate holder is suppose to be and they remove those plugs to hookup the license plate holder. I think they threw away my plugs.

I wanted to do the same mod but buying those paint matched plugs + license plate relocater thing + carbon fiber acura stickers is :thumbsdow

Like the above said^^

If bolts onto your tow hook, a few of my friends have it on their MB's, never seen it on a acura though.

Also, you can get away with no front plate for a few weeks, just tell the cop that you just bought the car and the original owner didn't have the frame and say the dealer doesn't have any in stock, i did this and it worked(maybe pba card?). I actually lied because the frame was in my trunk lol

I actually bent mine in 2 places so I could wedge it into the front grill (like where your TL-s fog lights are) only problem is it fell out during a snow storm because I didn't secure it (it was literally just wedged in).

If cops will let you get away with that, I thought it looked good, and cut the visible part of the plate down by half (just make sure you secure it with like some zip ties).

On second thought: I thought Fairfax county cops would be all over me for no front plate, but it fell off 1.5 yrs ago and I haven't heard a thing.

NY Cops, especially now are looking to ticket people for every little thing, and its not only while we're on the road. They can issue a ticket while he car is parked, so I don't want to risk getting a ticket.

BTW - the car has those color matched plug on it, and I'm buying it from private party.

I feel sorry for the folks that have to have a gaudy front plate... However, I lived in Toledo, OH for a few years, and refused to put one on the front of my bimmer... never got pulled over for it. Too bad the cops are dicks where you're at.

You can try tucking it in your windshield but most cops will still nab you on that.

goto the hardware store and buy two L brackets, bend it the way you need to so it fits right, drill the holes, test mount. then spray the brackets and get some bolts and nuts. your all set. bracket cost less then 2 dollars

^^^ Sounds like a great idea. I'm on the fence if it looks better off to the side so I can get some Acura letters on the front, or if it looks better symmetrical in the center...hmmm

License plate in the front looks fugly no matter where you put it... stinks that your state requires it by law...

Though if you gotta put one there, I think a centered look is best instead of an off-center one.

I havent had a front plate on my car since I put my ronjon kit on in Aug 05 and there was no way in hell I was drilling into that bumper. The kit has been off for about 2 years now and I still dont have one mounted. Im from VA where it is required but I always keep it behind my passenger seat for when I go on base and just put it on the dash.

Its funny I usually get the same small talk about putting it on the dash how it can chop my head off if I get rear ended at 200mph. Some say need to get it mounted and some just say take it off the dash. blah blah
