license plate led Supernova

I had my superNova license plate bulbs for maybe 3 weeks and one burned out.
good thing i kept the second set that was different color and put those on.

Are there any better license plate bulbs to use beside doing the cathode strip ?

Please let me know which one to go with it.

yea the supernova didn't last me as well! they're not made as well as other leds...that's why they're cheaper. i've replaced them with tower leds....you won't be disappointed with those, they're BRIGHT!!

I've had my supernovas (red) in my license plate for a couple months now and have not had a problem! You might want to consider a set from superbrightleds. I've had those in my interiors almost a year and never had one burn out yet!

I have these from vleds. Its a very bright true white

almost too bright for me...as I said, its a true white...kinda wish it was bluish white.

If you have the time (which seriously isn't long at all) Cold Cathodes like Fizzle said are the way to go!

Will the tower LED fit into the license plate socket without any adjustment? If it fits perfectly what type of LED tower did you used and where did you bought it?

they'll fit but be carefully because it's tight in space, don't jam them in.
Instead, gently clip the sockets back in when installing.

they're bright!! might be too bright for some TLers here.

if you look at the picture again, you'll find out where to get this LED.
please do a search on how to replace the license plate bulbs, then you'll know what I mean by gently clipping the socket back in.

these leds can probably last longer than your TL. what i'm trying to say is they last very long.

I put these same towers into my license plate area and did so without any modifications. They work, and look, great.

nice nice!! I really like them for license plate.
if you just push the socket back in with force, you might jam the top led by hitting the clear plastic cover.

just a reminder for someone else.

Will this same tower fit into the reverse light without any modification as well?

I used the High Power - Pure White 194/168 wedge base bulb / his bulb has 1 High Power LED
At 4500K, the Color Temperature is between Warm White and Cool White.

Yes they will fit.
You can fit some tower with more leds for reverse lights since they have more space inside.

What brand did you buy to paint ur calipers? Also do you know a website that will give me directions to remove the calipers on the 04 TL? Any information would be useful. Thank you!

Please post some pics of ur calipers.

my supernova's starting flickering within 4 weeks... 2 months, burned out

i went with the 1WLED (i think) from superbrightleds.com.... not quite as bright as the supernova, but 4 months in, no problems at all
