I'm partial to the chainlink look myself

We had a thread about this a while back. I had purchased carbon fibre plates which looked really nice, but they were very flimsy and felt like they were going to crack the minute something barely touched it. They weren't cheap either, about $35 each (and unfortunately here in NY we need 2) so stay away from those.

I bought the WeatherTech (www.weathertech.com) clear cover license plate frame in black. It completely covers your license plate in a waterproof sealed acrylic cover. It comes in a variety of colors, including carbon fiber.

Black profile would look great..... Sadly, they are illegal here in Texas now.

Try the Ones offered from Canada

Check out any of the monthly publications (R&T.. C&D ... MT etc.) and look thru the back pages of Car accessories, I'm sure you will find the ones offered to you from a Canadian Address that are advertised to optically block your tag numbers from Photo radar, toll cameras etc. The funny part is they are illegal here in Canada.... but its just my :twocents:

(don't forget to tip the scales if you found this even slightly enlightening... lol)

Get one that says Faster Than A Speeding Ticket. just kidding. Saw it once in a mall found it to be amusing although I don't know how funny the police would find it.

lol when i said low profile black I meant that it would blend in with the car and not be so evident...not realizing that the anti-law enforcement plates would carry the same namesake. However, I do like the clear cover weathertechs , it would be better if it was a little tinted.

I have one of those--the Eliminator. Got it when DC first got photo radar (I don't run red lights so I didn't worry about the red-light cameras). It is no longer on the car because it worked TOO well--it blocked the plate at all sorts of angles and a cop pulled me over.....of all times, it was on Christmas Eve in 2001 when I was on my way to church! But he let me go without a ticket on the condition that I take it off the car on the spot, so I did. I would have had to remove it anyway as I was driving to Mont-Tremblant a few weeks later and so close after 9-11 it seemed like a VERY bad idea to try to get past Border Control with a fuzzed-out license plate!
