License Plate Covers - Yey of Nay???

I was thinking about getting a tinted license plate cover with a crome molding around it.

I live in florida and see them a lot so I am not too worried about getting pulled over, I am mored concerned with the looks.

What are some opinions on how the tinted plate looks and what molding do you think looks the best??? crome or black or no molding or maybe something different

NTTAWWT????

The photoblocker ones were Myth Busted.

I have a license plate cover, but it's clear...I don't really like tinted ones.

I got one of THESE in chrome. You can see it in the picture I posted on page 2 of the @$$ thread, although it's not a close-up.

yea those photo blokers are bogus.... they fit right there with the "turbonator" haha

as far as the cover, depends on the color of your car. some just look stupid if they are cheap chrome look plastic one.

which reminds me of one i saw the other day which said, "my car doesn't going fast, it flys low." haha thats one way to look at it

Jess where did you get that from? I want that! That will go nicely with my stealth look, and keep cops from pulling me over! I was going to go without a front plate, but I am considering options.

Its a metal frame / tinted plate combo I got from Shucks Auto Parts in Wa State.

To cover the mounting screw heads I went to Home Depot and got small black plastic covers for them. There is a disc that goes behind the screw head and a black cap that snaps in place.

Here is the same setup on black ... sorry for being a pix whore.

Had no idea, was thinking on buying one, cause the camera BS is just that, BS.

anyway... Apparently there is a brand that WAS NOT busted on mythbusters. And as such advertised on their site.

see i think that looks slick , especially if you had a light tint on the tail lights too,

well i ordered it, i will take a pic with the crome molding and without and do a comparison, I am thinking the crome molding is going to stupid and will probably just have the tint and if they have a black AcuraZine logo molding ill get that

I am not sure, but those *sound* like reticulating lenses. And I *think* reticulating lenses over license plates are illegal in most states.

FWIW. Just FYI.

YMMV.

I don't think he really asked anyone to make his mind up for him, but just rather their opinion. What's wrong with that?

That's a crude kind of way to say hello to the forum don't you think? It's all good, just chill out...we do this all the time in here, so you might want to try another forum if this really bothers you.

He's 5 for 5 so far today. Really out there winning freinds and influencing people.

Joined in May 2007, but didn't post until today - every one a shot at Acura, the TL or, as above, a member. I wonder if he's related to HardrivinLE1?

If you are completely in capable of NOT being an asshole, stay out of here. People use a forum for help, advise, info, ideas ect. STFU and change your plug.
