Lexus IS350 Reports
Lexus IS350 Reports
I love these stories... both real life street racing and drag strip events..
Here you go... from one of the members:
IS350 beating the Corvette, numerous runs, constant beating, steady and consistent.
"I ended up going to the track this weekend and here's a video of what i did... Yes the Lexus did win by .0723 I can't get my scanner to work but here's the details

We only ran 1/8 cause the 1/4 mile sensors weren't working.... He wanted a rematch from last month that i beat him on the 1/4 mile and now i still beat him..LOL I beat him by .4222 last time which was almost 2 car lenghts.. He did something to his car since then... We raced about 3 times and i was barely beating him every time.. Well enjoy guys any comments are welcomed.."

Here is another...
"Been there done that.
Took out a c5/c6 owner months ago (forgot which), by a full car length, in my gf's is350. He wasn't to happy.
I think he should be happy I wasn't in my car or else I'd get infront of him at the next light and bust my two-step/aniti-lag on him just to be as much as an ass as he was."

Another nice quote:
"Nice run Tony59. Anything is possible at the track, it's just that with the IS350 the results are usually the same. The car is very consistent being that it is super easy to launch and shifts rather quickly. I too have surprised many cars with more power including SRT8's, F-bodies, V8 S4's, etc."
"Hey Caymandive you're right about our car having constant times... I ran mine 4 times that day and here's the results all 1/8 ET
1. 8.6600 82.31mph
2. 8.6142 82.64mph
3. 8.6945 82.22mph
4. 8.6629 82.34mph"

DAMN SICK BROTHER. HEIL IS350. (since you just bought one)
ITS THE FASTEST.
Seriously though man, why you trying so hard to make haters?
If you sound a little less biased on the topic, then people will accept your comment and believe in them. Right now, nobody's gonna believe you, even if it is a FACT.

Hot and sticky 70% humid weather, the n00bie obtains 13.5 sec in the drag strip for the first time.
"Finally went to the track. My first time at a drag strip, let alone race in it. I like the atmosphere. Everyone is laid back and just there to have fun. Even the announcer was joking on the intercom. Saying that the guy in the Lexus (me) must have lots of money and hopefully will invest in a team to compete in the NHRA if he gets the racing bug. I guess they don't get lots of Lexus to race in this part of town.
I line up to go down the track for the first run and one of the guys comes to my car and wants to seat with me to show me the way. I said I'll be alright and I would rather be alone. He said no prob. Without doing a burn, I'm slowly staging the car. It was jerky since I was braking with my left foot to stage just to be ready. (Which I stopped doing latter since I now knew I have enough time to switch foot after being staged.) I brake torque to 1000rpm, then yellow, yellow, yellow, then floor the gas to leave on the green. I was all exited until I realize I wasn't going to fast and my car was spinning like crazy even after 30 feet. So I let go most of the throttle and just cruise down the track with my head down.
When I got back the intercom announcer said he was sorry and it was their fault of not prepping the track enough for street tires. So they start applying some sticky stuff. Then calls all the pro dragsters to the track. They had a 1/8 pro bracket race that night. Tells me to wait until they all pass as this will prep the track for me.
Then it's my turn again. I start the car, trying to do the pedal dance as fast as I can. Which back fired as it took me longer than usual since I wasn't depressing the brake pedal long enough. Finally the traction dash lights up. Go up to the three then I decided to back up in front of the water box to spin a little. Just enough to clean my tires. I stage up, just as nervous as last time. Yellow, yellow, yellow, GO. This time I shoot out of the whole. Trying to keep the car as strait as possible without big steering corrections. Got my slip on the way back, 13.571.
After this I did around 4 more times they where all 13.6. But my tires where losing some traction on take off. Until my last run I did 13.53. Woohoo. Over all I am happy of my performance.

Quote from ClubLexus member Threxx
I've seen some really bad drivers run some really amazingly bad times in some cars that should be much faster.
If you run mid 13s at low 100s a 97-04 Vette should easily beat you (high 12s @ 109 is what they're typically capable of), and the 05+ LS2 models even moreso (not to mention Z06). But as mentioned... a bad driver or botched launch/shift can really throw a wrench into a car's time.
I had a friend with a 98 Trans Am - should be at a minimum a mid-13 second car @ 105+ mph, but it was in such bad tune (beat up) and he was such a bad driver that I think he pulled a 14.9 at 99 or so. Ouch!
what Threxx said is what ive been trying to tell you. and ive only seen ONE handful of is350 drivers in stock form run 13.2 caymandive and combfilter to mention two.

[b][QUOTE=RoRo;1692310]I took my IS350 back to the track last night and achieved the above time for my fastest run.
Here are the timeslips from my 5 runs last night:

"My goal for the night was to get at or near 13.5s, so overall, I was pleased. Every run was done in D with the power ECT button on. VDIM left alone. Here is a breakdown of the runs:
(1) 13.514 @ 103.08..........60' - 2.120..................I was lined up against a LIghtning. I was thoroughly beaten on that run. I believe he had Hoosiers in the rear. Anyways, I was happy to get to my goal on the first run, but I knew I could run better. Temp was about 71 and I had about half a tank of gas in the car.
(2) 13.649 @ 103.65.....60' -2.254.............I was lined up against an Eclipse. It was the model prior to this newest model that was just released. In the staging lanes, the owner was removing his driver's side headlight and putting in some aluminum piece to get airflow directly to his intake filter. His friend was also letting air out of his 2 front tires. Anyways, I wasn't paying attention at the tree and was like "oh ****, that just turned green" before mashing the gas to take off. The Eclipse jumped off to an early lead, but the IS easily caught up and put quite a distance on him by the end. I wasn't happy overall with this run. Temp was about 67 with about half a tank of gas.
(3) 13.348 @ 104.33.........60'-2.044.............Same eclipse as run #2. I actually paid attention at the tree this time, but that driver was timing the lights very well as you can see with his R/T. Everything clicked right on this run and I knew it was running pretty quick. I jumped out early and continued to add distance by the end of the run. This was the best run of the night, but I did have a faster 60' on another run. Temp was about 61 on this run.
(4) 13.412 @ 103.79............60' - 2.040................I noticed a 1st gen IS in the staging areas and noticed his intercooler in the front bumper. So I introduced myself and told him that I would like to line up against him. He quickly agreed with a huge smile on his face. I asked him what he was running and he said "a T70 on 5 lbs". I was thinking I was going to get smoked but he said it consistently runs 13.5s all day long. So then I thought it would be a really good race. Anyways, we line up and I never saw him after the lights went green. I got the jump and continued to slightly increase the gap at the end. I thought the car ran fast, but I was slightly slower then my fastest run. I couldn't explain what I did differently in the 2 runs. My 60' was faster but I lost a few thousands of a second at the 330 mark and also was running 1/2 mph slower at the 1/8th mark. I still can't figure out what I did differently or wrong. Temp was about 61 on this run.
(5) 13.520 @ 103.42................60' - 2.092................same 1st gen IS. I talked with him again in the staging lanes as he was changing something on the parameters on the laptop that he had hooked up to the car. He said that his car bogged and that he had too much wheelspin. Up at the tree, same story. I thought I ran really good on this run, but it was a few tenths slower again. Temp was again near 61 on this run with a just under a half tank of gas.
So there you have it............................13.348 @ 104.33 on stock 18's and mostly stock engine. If you search through my other posts you'll see that I have slightly modified my power/weight ratio by changing the exhaust and getting rid of some weight. My next step is to finally weigh these stock 18s and get some lightweight 17s to replace them. I would also like to pick up a set of drag radials for the rear. I want to get this car into the 12s as soon as possible. Let me know what you guys think......"

Let me know what you guys think......"
since you couldnt find the "many 13.2 is350's" i found ONE HAND full for you and also the top 5 fastest is350's without a supercharger. and heres the list check it out.

Here is some fun story...
"Let me start out by saying I'm not a big fan of street racing. I think that racing should be done on a track. But every once in a while an opportunity comes your way that you cant refuse so here goes. I went out to the local Wa-Wa to pick up a few things last night and as I was about to turn left out of my development in my 08 IS350 a shiny black BMW 335 coupe rolls past heading to the right. Well I read all the threads in the forums about what's faster a IS350 or a 335 so I just had to know. I reached up and threw my turn signal all the way up and proceeded to the right. This road that I was on is a four lane road and at the time it was free of traffic even better the stop light up ahead turned red and caught the 335. I pulled up next to the shinny bimmer and glanced over at the driver. we both smiled and it was on!!! When the light changed he jumped out to were his door was at my bumper but as half way through 2nd I had made up the ground and I started pulling ahead as I clicked off 3rd and 4th when I let off I had him by a car and a half. As we slowed for a light I rolled down my window and said to the driver. I read all the forums and I just had to know which one is faster, "obviously yours is" he shouted as he graciously conceded to defeat.
So there you have it, now I know.

I find it funny that Mr. Manual posts up these IS350 timeslips and claims the runs were "in warm" or "sticky" weather. Little does he understand what density altitude is nor that that 13.3-13.5 second IS350 running at Moroso was in -300' to -500' conditions. Those are pretty damn ideal conditions and I'm certain to 100% that the IS350s posting 13.2-13.4s were run at tracks under similiar ideal conditions. IS350s running 13.2-13.4s is about as common as stock 07+ 350Zs running 13.3s, stock F-Bodies running 12.8s, stock G35 03-04 G35 sedans running 13.7s, stock C6 Z06s running 10.9s, etc. It's all been before, but it is FAR from the norm.
The IS350 is damn fast for it's power to weight ratio and kudos to Lexus for getting the gearing exactly right for that car. I wish other makes would follow the same path. But to say an IS350 is a low 13 second car is a joke. In most hands and on most tracks, the IS350 is a 13.6-13.8 second car.
Don't get me started about the C5 claims.

If the condition was that good for a stock '07 350z to get 13.3 sec then the IS350 would be getting high 12's. You have got to stop comparing best run on a car with worst runs on other car. I have never, ever seen any drag strip events or time slips that the '07 350z beating the well established IS350 quarter mile performances. And yes the warm and sticky weather affects the vehicle significantly. What's even more ridiculous is that you trying to compare an '07 350z to an IS350. That is even more absurd..... The 350z is not even a contender. What is going on here... lol......

And I have seen a lot of 1st gen G35's hitting low 15's to high 15's in the quarter mile in the drag strips in sticky warm weather. Humidity my friend.. Lexus IS350's keep within mid~ high 13's in the worst weather condition in the track.

And of course with a typical C5 Corvette driver with typical launching the IS350 can and easily beat the Vette if launched right. This is not even a challenge.... I have heard so many incidents the IS350 guys beating the C5 Vette from 0-125 range. I have heard some IS350 even be very close to, or beating the C6 Vette. There are quite a lot of Corvette drivers that got pissed because they lost the race. The only way to beat the IS350 for sure is to opt for a Z06 or ZR-1.... C5 Vette is a joke... 350z is even more of a joke. Can't believe someone even mentioned that name...

I have already ran into a couple of '08 G35 Sport sedans and I got cocky and gave them a sign but they refused to race me. I think they got scared. The other one was a 1st gen G35 Coupe and two guys in the car just kept staring at my car once they saw my IS350 badge. They dare didn't bother racing me. I'm like.... that's rite biotch don't even try... lolz... I'm having such great times over here as IS350's are rare in my area.

best VQ35HR record = 13.150 @ 107.62 with a 2.026 60'

best Lexus IS350 record = 13.228 @ 105.01 with a 1.940 60'
if anything were to compare to the e46 m3 in terms of PERFORMANCE it would be the 2007+ Nissan 350z.
lol btw you should do a little more research before you make more ignorant comments like above.
