Rodney's are very sublte and tasteful. IIRC they might only illuminate when you hit the unlock and then go off after a short time. Or maybe that was someone else.

If that's the case, then I retract my statement. I thought they stayed on, even as you drive.

Rodney has them and they look great. For me it was either this or the puddle lights. Both would have been overkill. I went for the puddle lights but the door handles are sweet, very 7-series.

Guys, I think that's a very cool mod. It looks pretty involved, but still is a very unique, distinctive look.

the 7 series system is a bit more complex and nicer. Its one LED situated inside the handle, then there's a lense on the inside of the handle and then the outside. It's really nice at night when you unlock the car. I'll snap a photo or two for you guys.

I read that same post on the maxima forums. I'm gonna do this for the summer and be extremely careful since I fried the MICU and the whole fuse box has to be replaced.

Right the BMWs all have them now, it started on the 7-Series first. And of course it is nicer, it is designed by BMW engineers of course! Top notch, long-lasting components that are tested in R&D. None of our mods can match those rigors.

If its on all the time, no thanks, too tacky.

If it comes on during lock/unlock, that would be kind of cool.

I'd like to see this. I searched for pictures and videos but had no luck. I'm wondering if I can just go to BMW and buy the same setup, and integrate it into a TL......
I'd like to know how much different it would be than just using a single 5mm led and soldering it in.

Rodney's looks great. The only thing I'm not too comfortable with is how the light is confined to the "divots" in the doors. I'm thinking of doing something like this - Just like on the BMW door handles. I like how the light kind of fades out rather than sharply cuts off.

That's what I suggested ... I couldn't agree with you more.. it illuminates your pathway as you approach the car.

Using the lighting with the door lock and unlock is what it is all about. I have my puddle lights wired like that and they fade on/off. That's what makes this mod look so good and gets everyone's attention when I pull up somewhere......I don't drive around with them on, lol. That would be pretty doofy. Could you imagine lighted door handles while you are driving down the highway, ahahaaha!
