However, I still like the look of the fogs with the headlights. So if I sent both power signals to the fogs, I should have that control. The stock location of the DLRs wouldn't be used at all.
Any Update on this? I would love to be able to have just my fogs on.. I already removed the DRL fuse because the annoyance of piss yellow bulbs was too much to handle.
What i'm looking for is a Brighter (hid looking) bulb for my high beams. I hear someone mentioned certain bulbs are illegal, can you explain this and why? If it's because it's "too bright" I'm fine with that.. I rarely use my highbeams anyway. Also what is the bulb size for our high beams
Just a quick question. I just thought of this now, but is there a seperate bulb for the High Beams or is it actually the same lights as the DRL just when you switch to high beam it comes out at a higher (brighter) current? My wife has the car today so I can't be certain on this one.

A J35A8 EG civic is in
Im almost 100% sure that im right on this one. The DRLs are always the same. The projectors are your highbeams and low beams. What happens is there is this thing in the projector that moves which causes the light to shine higher. I know I didnt put it in the right way and I know there is someone who will wind up explaining it better lol. You can actually hear the thing move when you have your windows down and listen towards the headlights while turning high beams on and off.

Disadvantage of all-white DRLs: People will assume you have your brights on since they are located on the inner portion where the brights usually are. I am sure people will be flashing you even if the DRLs are relatively dim. This might not be too much trouble driving during the day but at dusk or dawn you'll likely get flashed. We've had DRLs here for a long time and if they are white the assumption is high beams.

The pre 04 have ghetto 9005 high beams.
DRL are ok on highs at low power (50-60%)
I have my DRL off and they turn auto on at like 8 pm LOL.... its so insensitive to light levels on my car.
Most hondas have drl features to warn u when the bulb burns out, thats what my 07 civic does if u replace the bulbs with an led.
these bulbs are way too overpriced and not bright enough, dont use them. Just leave drl stock or get rid of it. You can also keep ur hids on all the time LOL... waste of parts IMO.

This is when you flash em back and show em your real high beams, lol

Replacing DRLs - that's actually the easy part.
You still need a harness and a set of resistors. If you get them from the right place, this will be one package.
The hard part is where put all the cables once you're done.

Three Wheelin'
Here's the relays, driver's side resistor and the bulk of the wiring, hidden away:
Ran the wire to passenger side using the factory wire harness with zip ties:
Passenger side resistor:
Clean engine bay, only wire visible is the power wire on the battery:
Hard to capture the 5 k light on my cell phone camera, but best i could do for now:

do they have fogs now? seems like a waste of 9006 for low wattage DRL.. it eats the bulb alive... thats why they develop that brown crap on them.
Ure talking about the 07 TL_S right>?? otherwise the DRL is on the TL fogs which are in the housing anyways. I guarantee u the 07 TL-s uses the drl bulb at full power for daytime flash to pass since hid is off anyways.
In any case direct swaps will not run the led at 12v thus they will be dimmer than a harness setup. Your idea would work in 05+ max where it uses a 12V (3157 or something) as DRL but its a 21W running at full power.
6V Drl will light up dim.... o well my DRLs are off hahhaha .... and i love it....its one of the dumbest features for cars... for bikes its great..

Are there any led's that don't need extra harness? Like DDM or something? I don't need my drl's to be bright or anything, I'd just like 'em to be white. I bought Sylvania Silverstar Ultra lamps hoping that it will be any different from OEM bulbs... Yeah right...I can barely see any difference.

LEDs require 12v minimum to operate.
The relay harness supplies full battery voltage to the DRL which is anywhere from 12-14v

No.... The DRL bulbs operate on 6 volts. That is what the DRL circuit supplies to the bulbs. That's why any halogen bulb you put in is dim. That's why any led bulb you put in there won't work.

I was really hoping that they made led sets that would operate at 6V. The car I had 10 years ago had led's for DRL's, I mean come on 😐
