^^^ I agree....and bigger is not always better....

a 60SMD LED is brighter than a 120 traditional LED's....

another thing you want to look into is how many are white and how many are Amber in the whole setup....

if you have only 40 Amber and 80 white...then the turn signal wont be as bright....i know Autolumination dot com has the 60-60 LED which means they are dual colored....you have only 60 LED's in the indicator but they are dual colored and switch between white and amber....they dont last very long but well....

alright, I need some help...

I have an 04 Base TL, and I am running LED blinkers in my tails, and LED blinkers (switchbacks) in my headlights.

I purchased the 60 SMD LED bulbs from autolumination.

I have 3.5 (i think)ohm Load resistors on the blinker circuit on each side of the car, and the switchbacks work perfectly 95% of the time. They are type 2, so they blink amber off amber off, when I have the blinker on...

However, sometimes they blink amber white amber white, its a quick flash of the white, and I am not sure how to fix it or what to do...

AckTL05 told me that I can't use the 60 SMD bulb, and I need to go to less LEDs, and I believe him since he knows his shit when it comes to these TLs, but I am just wondering if anyone else has this issue? Are you all Type S, or are there Base TLs using these LED bulbs also?

^^^ i think some autolumination products are CRAP !!!

by the way i know what you are saying coz a local member (Matt) has the same problem....I call his switchbacks "version 1.5" LOL....

i do not think its the number of LED's, I know many members are running 120 LED without a problem....to troubleshoot the issue i would recommend replacing one of the front sidemarkers with the bulb and remove the load resistor on the same side....see what it does...

it could be a small issue as a live wire touching the frame (ground) sporadically or something like a shitty quality switchback....

How come you need a resistor?

to prevent hyperflashing since the LED does not put the same load on the circuit, the flasher unit does not see any bulb and believes there is a bulb out since the resistance of an LED bulb is much less than a halogen bulb, so you must introduce a "fake" load to the blinker circuit.

I would highly suggest you consider going this route...and if Swoosh knows it's an issue, try ALSO swapping the bulbs.

You can buy the V3 triton from Vleds, you wont need resistors because it has one built into the unit itself. The only problem is they only come in 5000K or 6000k and our stock headlights are 4300K.
http://www.vleds.com/v3-triton/bulb-system/v3-wa-5k.html

My question for you guys that have the triton V3 turn signals do I need this part?

"Add Parking Light Adapter for Single Filament Applications. 3156 7440 use 6" Extension Tap #3 RED wire, and 1156 7507 use Single Filament Base Adapter and tap YELLOW wire to factory parking circuit. "

you don't need the wire because the TL uses a 7443 / 1157 bulb which are dual filament bulbs

Did you have to do anything to the inside of the light housing? It looks like you have white reflectors in there. I'd love to go AW but also want the full white corner.

Make sure you clear your headlights before you do this because if you still have the amber diffuser in place, the WHITE on the LED will still look amber/yellow because of the amber diffuser. AMBER DIFFUSER + White LED = PISS YELLOW. I used to have mines like that until I got it cleared.

The good things about those 60-60 switchbacks from autolumination is that they are a total of 60 LEDs that are dual function. Meaning 60 LEDs will light up white, and those exact same 60 LEDs have the ability to change from white to amber, so you get both 60 WHITE and 60 AMBER LEDs. Here's a warning though, some members have had a bad experience purchasing from autolumination and said that they will never purchase anything from them, while other members have had 0 problems. It's up to you... You're risking $70, so if you have the money than go for it. If not, I would recommend eBay instead.

Most other switchbacks that are 60 LED are only 30 white and 30 amber (totals 60, but half of the LEDs are 1 color, the other half is the 2nd color).

Pay attention to the pricing on autolumination... The price you see is PER BULB, not PER PAIR.

If I recall, the price is about $29.99 / PER. You will need two.

2 bulbs + shipping will put you at about $60-70 I believe.

I went the cheaper route and just bought 60 LED from Kaixen Motors on eBay. They are 30 white, 30 amber just like you see in my video with the black TL
How do you "clear" your headlights?! That is the only thing holding me back from installing these LEDs. I'm assuming I'll have to take the headlight off completely and crack it open to remove diffuser? And DIY threads of vids on the tube?
