I have purchased an aftermarket LED lighting kit from LED Underbody. I want to hook the lights up so that they turn on only when I open any of my doors. I have read that I can hook them up directly into the cigarette lighter. I am unsure exactly how to disassemble the cigarette lighter in the TL. Has anyone done something similar to this. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks

 

Just tap into the fuse panel inside the car, located right in your kick panel. Should be a 15A fuse labeled "ACC", quote me if I'm wrong.

 

If you're looking for them to turn on only when the doors turn on, then you needs to wire them into another power source that acts in the same manor.

I'm thinking the courtesy lights in the door are the way to go on this. If you want them to turn on when you unlock the door and stay on until the door re-locks, then I'd say go with the dome lights.

You should search for some of the guys on here who have done puddle lights, they might have some insight for you.
