LED DRL - no error code, yet

I just installed the IJDMTOY led drl bulbs and decoder and took my car out for a 5 mile drive - no error code so far.

Does anyone know if it takes a little time for the error code to appear or am I one of the lucky ones?

Thanks.

I got their old kit back in september...didn't work at all. Then they came out with a new design, had it installed for 2 days and the decoder burned out and my DRL light came on, and my LEDs went off. They sent me a new decoder, same thing happened. Trying to figure it out with them but my car seems to hate their decoders for some reason. Trying to contact JLC Lightings to buy just their decoder, but their email support is garbage.

I wish Acura didn't over engineer everything and just made the sockets put out 12v...would save a lot of headaches.

Mine's a 2007 TL. Wonder if it makes any difference. I hope mine lasts. Anyone else out there have any history with the IJDMTOY led drls?

You are one of the lucky ones! I purchased iJDMs LED DRL kit and had the code ever since. They are putting out about half power but still are bright so I roll like that for now. I still need to contact them to see if they can just issue me a working decoder.

Update: after a day or so of driving, my DRL light came on this morning. Drove 1 mile and the light flickered, then went off for the rest of my 13 mile commute. The daytime running lights worked the entire time. Anyone else ever experience this with the IJDM led setup?

Thanks.

The first day I installed the same kit I did not have the DRL warning light and then after that day it was always on always with the exception of one day I notice it flickering off at 6,000 rpm but that was only that one day. I just replaced my car battery with an Everstart Maxx battery and now the DRL warning light is mostly off but now flickers on and off every once in awhile. I would rather have it always on than flicking on every once in awhile because I notice it more flickering.

My iJDMtoy kit did the same. No warning light for a couple of days then it came on. I also wasn't satisfied with the brightness of the light so I sent it back.

sounds like this is a common problem with iJDM toy DRL kits.

I'll be sure to stay away from them.

with LEDs and decoders/load resistors the error light shouldnt come on at all..
I have my own custom kit wired up and had been running bypasses DRLs for more than a year.. no errors...
I hate pre-wired kits!

And they advertise this as "error free" with a "decoder".

Agree that it is not very bright, but I can live with that because it gets rid of the ugly yellow DRL. Not sure if I can live with a flickering or on/off DRL warning.

you guys should try to get a refund if you can and go with JLC lightings...no DRL warning light and full power to the LEDs.

Would you care to elaborate? I'm sure most of us would like to avoid the headache of dealing with these half-assed companies and wouldn't mind doing a little "DIY" action to get it working.

i remember this kit was the 1st thing i bought for my car back in july when i got it plus led license plate bulbs from them as well, the license plate bulbs work awesome could be brighter but it satisfies me enough to leave them for now as far as their DRL kit goes i got one word - GARBAGE!! I installed them and they would flicker, one side wouldnt light up, or it would be dim.. i got fed up took it out and gave it away to some kid that pulled up next to me in a honda < literary gave them away..

Update again: DRL warning light lit up and stayed on, LED lights would not work at all. I pulled everything out and put my regular bulbs back in. Sent email to IJDMToy to set up return of their product.

Do the interior Led lights work well? I'm guessing they don't throw any error codes. Maybe I'll install them instead - just trying to play with my car because I am bored.

Help

I am about to get 3 mufflers for my 2008 Acura TL, all magna flow. 1 is going to be a mid-muffler (center, center) for better flow and the other 2 as regular mufflers(center, off center). I was wondering what size i should get.

You can buy from them, but another alternative is www.v-leds.com

I switched out all of my interiors using V-Led. If you follow them on FB, they have coupons every month or so. I think the last was 20% off your order. When installing some people recommended removing the fuses first, but I had no issues or problems what so ever.

I just can't find a really good glove and center console light. Vled had two that looked right, one is okay, but I'd like it to be a little brighter, and the other didn't fit.

The problem was that when the DRL warning light came on, the actual DRL lights turned off. That's why i'm returning them. I can live with the DRL warning if the lights stayed on and worked.
