LED Bulb question
LED Bulb question
I'm trying to change the fog light to LED light, can i just change it to LED bulb? or do i need to change the wire too? And does the wire get burn if i just change the bulb to LED? Thanks in advance
What year is your tl? We dont usually change our fog lights to led. We use the drl kits. You can either order it from ddmtuning or retrofitsource. I forgot what bulbs i think its h11 but im not 100% sure
What year? The 04-06 fogs are 9006 and since they're always at 12 volts, not 6 like a DRL, I can't see why you couldn't plug and play an LED bulb, but it's not gonna put out as much light. I thought about doing that and maybe the independent fog mod to leave them on as DRLs but for now I just have a 35 watt HID kit, they point very low so they don't blind anyone and just fill in the headlights a little better.

This site will answer all your questions about headlights and tail lights.
Like these guys said though, LEDs aren't a very good choice for any type of headlight replacement because they don't provide a focused beam. They are good for side markers or turn signals though(brighter and last longer).
There are literally hundreds of options for headlight modifications, so research on this forum and make a list of everything you want and gather the supplies so you only have to remove your headlights once or twice. Its a pain.
Bumper removal DIY here
For example, I'm doing amber LEDs for my turn signals, DRL kit, red demon eyes, "clearing" and blacking out my headlight assemblies, and getting LED strips to put on the chrome bar inside the shrouds. I definitely plan on doing this all at once.
I personally recommend www.superbrightleds.com for the supplies, but there are many other sites too.
Hope this helps!

Oh one more thing, if you plan on modifying your grills (blacking them out) or installing extra aftermarket fog lights, like the Accord fog light DIY on this forum, now might be the time to do all that as well, while your bumper is off.
OP,
Do you have a '04-'06 or '07-'08 TL?
'04-'06 have the fogs in the headlights and run on +12V so you should be fine with plugging in a 9006 LED bulb without having to modify anything.
'07-'08 have the fogs in the bumper. The fogs in the bumper run on +12V and as said previously, you can use a 9006 LED bulb without modification. However, if you plan on replacing your DRL on this car (where the fogs were on the '04-'06 TL), you'll need a relay harness. The DRL on these cars are wired in series dropping the voltage across each bulb to +6V.

I have the 07 TL, right now i wanna change the fog light, so is it better just change it to HID fog than just change it to LED bulb? or is LED is good enough for fog light?

Just swapped my fogs with LEDs. But the polarity didn't match my stock harness so I had to go to a TV repair shop to reverse the LED bulb wiring. It's an easy fix, but maybe you'll be lucky and it'll work with just plugging it in.
LED will be good enough to light up the housing, but not the road. It will give you less useful light than your stock incandescent bulb. If you want more light go with an HID setup, if you simply want the HID color and look but don't mind sacrificing useable light output, then go with LEDs.
