Leather Interior

I've been looking to get the leather seats reupholstered in my 08 Type S. I've called a few sites like Katzkin.com and cannot find anything out there for the Type S. I talked to a custom upholstery guy but I'm pretty sure I can buy whole new seats for the price he was charging.

Has anyone had the seats reupholstered before? If so where did you get the leather.

custom work by a shop or new OEM replacement either way will cost you $$$$ the last time some one re did the rear and front seat pay $2k for it.

Flo, I might suggest you look into replacement Acura leather versus the cost of custom.

Can you link the katzkin for $700?

I don't even see Acura listed on their website. I've seen a Honda Accord with katzkin but a 3G TL is unheard of

oem replacement also expensive too, 600 for each piece, driver seat alone already cost you $1100.

A friend of mine used leatherseats.com a few years back for a different car, they looked really good, probably less than 1K that way and it's custom.

Why would leather seats cost so much money?
I know the term is relative but Jesus, a turbo requires extensive engineering and precise physics to manufacture. But this is a chair wrapped in cow skin, with a few electronic gizmos.
I have to guess the markup is $999 because that's insane.

Labor.

do you remember watching MTV's Pimp my ride with the interior guy named Ish?

I suspect it's pretty hard to manipulate the covers, especially if going custom.

Or you can look out for a part out and just buy a whole seat!

Need to look into this also.. My passenger seat is ripped..

Was in a bit of bad shape and when the car went into the dealer to get the dash replaced looks like one of the mechanics pressured it too much with his knee that it ended up tearing up..

Couldnt say shit cause it was taken to the dealer for the work by a friend while I was in the states..

A friend in Orlando told me he has a guy that does them in good materials at a good price.. i will see if I get a quote for the two fronts and try to do a deep clean of the rear which is actually in great shape..
