leather care?

The Acura manual says not to use anything on the upholstry except water or saddle soap. I find this hard to beleive. Any thoughts or experiences concerning this matter. If you do you use any kind of conditioner, which brand would you recommend.

Thanks for your imput

Welcome to the forum

The routine care with leather conditioner does help extend its life and ease up wrinkles or crease. IMO.

I did a search but i was unable to find a thread that talked about how the leather held up if you follow the factory recommendations.

Griot's

I use Griot's Garage leather conditioner. Smells like leather and does a great job of cleaning and conditioning. Very easy to work with and leaves a great smell.

Much better than Lexol (I've used both).

I agree with Gman in that Griot's is great stuff for conditioning your leather. However, I use Lexol cleaner first, then the conditioner. Works for me.

can you get the Griots or Lexol at any auto parts store, Wal-Mart, Target, etc? or is it better to purchase it on-line somewhere??

come to think of it, I only used armorall on the parchment leather on my 2000 TL the entire time I had that car...when I turned traded it in last Dec, my seats looked like they should for a 4 year old car (some wrinkles, etc)...but did not see anything wrong with them...

do I need to put on a flamesuit for saying this?
