Leasing a 2007 TL Type S

I am going to buy a TL Type S in a day or two for about 538 a month 1 k down? I think basically just total drive off 1k.

39 thousand dollar car I think it comes pretty well equiped. Several friends have told me Im getting a great deal. Can anyone compare their deals? I am asked for 10 k annual miles.

Also I heard the since its front wheel drive it gets a little annoying steering through hard turns? Or does the car control itself pretty well? One more question my friend keeps boasting bout his 328 coupe im pretty sure the tl type s will rip his bimmer a new one but can i get confirmation. ahah

your not getting a good deal to tell you the truth!!! 08's are coming out soon. wait a few week and you'll get major bang for the $'s!!!

But i gotta say 538 isn't good at all.. i would lower that to 450!!! with 1 k down!.. try 400.

I agree, not great. Maybe even not good.

$538/mo with 10k miles is a lot with the '08's on their way.

Could part of this be creidt - your info say's "17" - maybe not enough credit history to get "super preferred" interest rates/money factor?

Do a search in this sub-forum (3G) on "Lease" - you should be able to see what others have got the past several months.

FWIW - your "Selling Price" should be around $35.5, maybe less depending on region. Your "Residual" should be around 55% of MSRP. Don't allow the inclusion of "Dealer Add On's" above the Selling Price.

Make SURE the mileage is appropriate to the amount you will expect to drive plus a little extra. Over-mileage at lease end is the number one reason people get "screwed" on a lease.

Also, IMHO, you need to do more research. Yes, you'll love the TL-S. But you say things like:

- "I think basically just total drive off 1k."

- "I think it comes pretty well equiped.

- "Also I heard .... "

To be completely sure you are getting the car and deal you want, you should *know* these things. Test drive, research, compare features, make spreadsheets, test drive some more, etc.

This doesn't apply to just this TL-S, but any car you buy in the future. Knowlegde is power.

Edit - just saw that it looks like you're in SoCal. If so, guys were getting "Selling Price" at mid/high $34's to around $35k.

type S alone comes with what exactly. I mean is it really loaded if you get the TYPE S?

I don't really know what the Type S comes with and what to add on.. I was going to get a 328 CI but they wanted 610 a month so forget that.. Well all the dealers try to low ball you I used to be nice but When I talk i dont beat around the bush I tell them I want to help them move a car and they need to make room for the 08's

kosstick, I thought you were the Internet Generation. All this info is out there by the bucket full. Dude, IMHO, either do the research or let daddy do it - but don't ask us to do it for you.

I just might let 'daddy' do it for me.....

You're right, the "daddy" comment was out of line.

Welcome to the forum.

This forum is a wealth of information. For questions about problems, specific features, pricing/deals, modifications, etc, all the answers are here.

All I'm saying is that "Search is your freind" and if you want an overall view of the features/specs/std equip for the TL family, you need to "look it up". There are some good auto evaluation sites out there. Edmunds is where I always go to first.

Any $30k Plus car is going to be "well equipped". The TL and TL-S are loaded with performance, comfort, technology and gadgets. Best value in the class as far as I am concerned.

The links above will give you a good start on deciding whether the TL-S has the features *you* think are important.

I appreciate it man but these guys are amazing they try to low ball you and they try to act as your friend. My dad isn't much of a haggler but I will argue till i'm blue in the face....

I told them get me under 500 and I will buy the car right now.. They simple are playing hard to get. But I know they are itching to get rid of their 07's to make room for an 08

I'm 22, and pay $454 a month, put down $1,500.00 plus i got the tire/wheel insurance. Brand new. So you decide...i'd go to the dealership and tell them what you want to pay, being as though my family owned two dealerships (mcnamara pontiac) i've seen many people get taken, and many people who come in with a mindset. Tell them what you are willing to pay and take it from there, if they won't do anything, hit up other dealerships. I would much rather drive 100 miles to pick up my car instead of paying 100$ more a month.

Just my

12k, 3yr. Like i said before, my entire family is in the car industry. My dad is the finance director at fountain auto mall so my credit score didn't really matter, BUT it's a 730.

I'm just saying, from my experience, shop around. See what 2 dealerships will offer you it for, have a mindset on what you are willing to spend. I would try to stay around $500.

ok...so other than Tripflex (who's father works for the dealership, so obviously got some sort of employee discount) can seriously say they got a TL-S for about $500 (including tax) on a 3 yr/36K lease and coming total out of pocket of only $1000????

Kosstick....Your from the new york area? Where abouts exactly? Drive down about an hour to princeton...Go into Precision Acura and ask for Saad tell him Brad Johnson ('07 NBP TL-S) sent you. I promise you he will give you a deal well worth the drive and seriously no bullshitting. Give him a call if you want 609-895-0600 I am only 24 and buy a car every 2-3 years. He is by far the only human salesman I have ever dealt with. Being 24 I went into a mercedes, audi and bmw dealership and was treated like a piece of shit. There are a few dicks at precision like anywhere. If he isn't there just leave him a voice mail and he'll get right back to you. I'm an out of state buyer too (virginia) but living up here and he made sure everything was taken care of. Even called me 2 months after I had the car to make sure I didn't have any problems. I will give glady give him your information if you want to PM me.

*legal notice* I do not work for precision and I'm only suggesting Saad because he went above and beyond to provide satisfaction. We played the bargaining game and he wasn't a jerk about anything. His professionalism is second to none, he is also only 18-19 years old but is a true professional. If I owned my own business he would be the first person I would hire.

Covered maybe 800, uncovered maybe 500. Depends on the shipper you use, we used Dependable Auto Shippers because they were always on time, but it's all up to you. Now i can't say you will get how much i got it for, but it will absolutely be less than what they offered you. Try the guy Evader was talking about first, see what he can pull for you...

For a TL-S, 36 Months, 12,000 miles per year:

My original offer from the dealer was $497, including tax, with only 1st payment due at signing. I asked for, and got $485 per month, same terms.

For $1000 total out-of-pocket, my payment would have been ~$470 per month (includes tax).

Once we agreed, I said, I want to lower the payment with a total of $2500 out-of-pocket. That got my payment to ~$420 per month, tax included.

BTW - there were SEVERAL lease deals posted earlier this year with payment and terms as good or better than mine.

kosstick.. Give Saad a call as long as your credit (or your dads) is decent as you say then he should have no problem giving you the deal your looking for. Best of luck and let me know how it works out.

In total, 36 month, 12k

440 a month (tax included), with 1,500 down

paid in total for the car -- $37,005

Not too shabby. Glad i went with the TL-S instead of the GTO

Leasing a 2007' TL Type-S

It's unlikely right now. Many of the people here took advantage of the lease special Acura ran for about 90 days when the MF was .00094 for super prefered credit(720 and above FICO score) and a higher residual. Now the MF is .00257 with a residual at 59% for 10K opposed to 61-63% before- depending on the month.

You stated your fathers FICO score is 680 which means he technically qualifies for prefered tier NOT super prefered. This pushes the MF up from .00257 to .00315.

Considering ALL the variables your quote is in the right ballpark.

P.S. Kosstick-were not all d!@<s

ohhh my bad, I thought I read that you were in New York. I apologize I'm going by the dealer this weekend to have something looked at... some freaking emissions error on my navi screen and If Saad is in I will talk to him about your situation. I know the transport cars all the time so it might be worth it in the end. Do you want to PM me your number and if he thinks he can get you a deal then I'll pass it along, or I can just let you know what he says and then you can give him a call

I think I am going to be sick. I put $2k down (total) on my 07 AV6 EX-L (navi) and pay $390/mo (12k/yr).....I would have been perfectly willing to put $2k down and pay up to $475/mo on a TL-S. ( ....wonder how bad I would get banged on flipping the Accord to a TL-S. )

Wow....i must have really got screwed when I got mine (and mine is only a TL with nav). I got mine at the end june and am paying $528 including tax and nothing down on a 3 yr/45K lease. I think at that time there was no rebate and i didn't get the super preferred rate either :-( . And they sold me the car at like $200 above invoice. There was no way I could talk them down anymore. Oh well....It has been a long time since I bought a car without an employee discount too. My negotiating skills must be rusty. Anyway, thanks for your reply. It's good to know that there are these great deals on this car.
