Arrow Leaking Transmission!

Has anyone look under their new 2004 TL to see wheather the transmission is leaking. I have a 2004 TL that has only 650 miles on it and the transmission tray under the car is wet. I was at the dealer the other day getting new pirelli pzero nero m&s put on because i couldn't deal with the bridgestones any longer and happen to notice that the black tranmission protection plate was wet. Mechanic remove the tray and notice transmission fluid was leaking around the seal. He clean up everything and told me to keep an eye on it. I drove the car home and look under to see if it was wet. There is a leak somewhere. Car will be going to the shop monday. From what I understand I heard a few of the new TL come off the truck with this problem. I know that the older generations TL have transmisson problem, and it seem to me that there might be problem with the new generations. So all of you 2004 TL owner out there, get under your cars and see if you transmission is leaking before it is too late!

See, I think you're full of shit.

OK, you've got a transmission leak. That sucks. I suppose 0.01% of all new cars have a nasty problem like this.

But instead of just ASKING whether anyone else has this problem, you had to push your post further by floating a rumor that you yourself just made up. What do you mean, "I heard a few come off the truck with this problem"???? WHERE did you hear that? I challenge you to provide a verifiable source.

Yeah it does sound like BS to me. If you were at the dealer he would not wipe it clean and tell you to keep an eye on it. sheesh

IMHO, i think a lot of the stuff we read on this forum is BS. There are some people who just like to make things up so that they can get good responses. We just have to learn to read things on here and filter the bs, sarcasm, exageration.

smak, are you saying that we can't believe everything we read just because it's on the internet?

wjames, did you run over something on the freeway accidentally? No one else on the board has reported transmission leaks. The only transmission "issue" reported is the MT popping out of 1st gear occasionally.

Im just saying that we can't trust everything people say becuase we do not know where thier sources are from and sometimes they just like to make things up. Dont get me wrong, there are definately people on this forum who know thier sh*t.

Lots of first-time posters would pop up this kind of shocking questions... maybe he's innocent... Let's believe his say first, and see what he's gonna ask in his second post.

Oil/fluid leaking... I have seen one posting before... only one. Not a few of the new TL come off the truck...

We cannot be that surprised when any TL has a problem, 1 post of 50,000 posts.

I think a lot of users will start off posting a problem or a question. I don't think a transmission leak is necessarily a widespread problem, but I also don't think this guy is necessarily lying just because he's got one post and made a claim about cars coming off the truck with transmission problems. That's just ignorance, but he may still have a leaking transmission.

By the way - you'd be surprised, but service departments do say "keep an eye on it" more often than not.

shhhhhh!!! auto tranny problem with the TL is a very taboo topic. don't even mention it. if you have the problem keep it to yourself. there is no way honda messed up again with their auto tranny. i dun see why everyone thinks this guy is lying. if he has the problem then its his misfortune, doesn't mean any of you will likely get that problem right?

Keep in mind, I did not question the truth of his own car's problem. What pissed me off was the part where he says he "heard" a few TLs come off the truck that way. That part is utter horseshit. But sure, he himself might have a leaky tranny.

the other people who posted transmission problems also posted once and left. I remember someone who had a better story, something about his phone not working the same time his transmission broke... haha

No mention whatsoever about how he got his tires changed to Pirelli's, yet there are many threads about that topic.

Thanks for the info (lack of) on the tires
