KPH to MPH
Any tips for a Canadian going to the states for the first time, and to get used to the MPH and miles instead of KPH and KM?
the lower MPH section in my gauge cluster is quite dim, and unless I’m missing something, basically can’t be used without seriously distracting myself while driving.
A viable solution is to just use the Waze app and follow its speed units that it gives in real time. Is that it? Other than a gauge cluster swap?
happy my old gal got me there today. 8hrs of driving, half in serious rain, and had no problems. 238K km ‘06 TL. averaged 7L/100km (32-34mpg) going an avg of 90kph.

Just drive as you normally do. Most Canadian roads are actually slower than most American roads.
That or drive with the flow of traffic. Knowing your speed isn't that big of an issue unless you're a serial-speeder.

If you turn the brightness up. The mph will be more visible. It's not hard to remember common speeds though.

If you are just visiting, remember 80 KPH = 50 MPH. Remembering that, you can guesstimate the conversion when you see a MPH sign. (25 MPH would be 40 PPH, 75 MPH = 120 KPH, etc.)
