Gauge cluster

After trying to take off the gauge overlays from the group buy and poping the speedometer needle off I just can't get it to recalibrate and worst of all the rpm gauge needle is stuck. It seems to be pushed down all the way to the gauge . And it won't come back up. ( bad day ) :banghead: . Where is there a good website to get a new gauge cluster? I checked e bay, nothing. I'm gonna see if I can get it fixed but jusy in case.

a brand new gauge cluster is going to read 0 miles on your Odo......might be consider milage fraud w/o the current milage sticker the dealer would have put on. You can contact Tim at Ray Laks Acura, 1888 RAY-LAKS.

did you drive next to some on with your needle off and pick a speed (say 30 mph) then push the needle on. that is the best way to recalibrate it( oh and dont start the car with the cluster out, just keep the clear cover off when doing it). the tach needle will pull off, its just hard. it stick due to touching the gauge. just get 2 small screw drivers and gently pry up. dont go and buy a new cluser.

Best thing to do is to get on a highway with a buddy driving another car parrell to you and have him set his cruise control to a selected speed and once you are consistent with him put your needle on the exact same speed your friend is going. My problem was that I pushed too hard on the needle when I put it back on so now it is stuck, and I'm having a hard time getting it off. So be carefull not to push too hard when putting the needle back on. Good luck. Also, read post above your's.

yup that is the way to do it.

davey, have you tried using a small screwdriver or 2 to pop it up a little? i did the same thing on accident, when i did get it off i made sure that i left plenty of room so that the needle didnt get stuck.

No, I have'nt tried a screwdriver yet. Allthough, with my luck lately, i'll probally break it. But I will give it a try. So what you saying is to use two small screwdriver's and pry the needle up? :o

Calibration is a pain in the butt if you've removed the needle. Why don't you just buy a new speedometer guage for $40 and just swap it out? It's not worth the hassle.

Where can you pick up one of those gauges?

Also if you replace that, will that mess with the mileage of the car?
