keyless remote problem ! ! !

Ok I noticed that the keyless remote on my 05 TL has no distance , once i get about 20 feet away, maybe even less it wont work, and it depends on the angle. Before I had a 02 type S Tl, and I could get pretty far away, but the remote would still work. Is there something I can do to adjust this?

Sure...put the remote against your neck, then try it. Your whole body becomes an antenna.

i like it the way it is. it's not too short of a distance, and plus i don't have to worry about my windows rolling down by accident... that would be shitty on a rainy day.

Many people ever talked this topic before... some got short distance, and others got the tremendous range... sorry to know you dislike your remote.

Mine is pretty good. Way better than I could imagine... more than 20~30 feet...

Red face Range can be boosted

I find the range quite acceptable at more than 30 feet. The receiver itself is capable of greater than 100 foot range so if you relocaste it you can get much farther. I have removed the receiver and tested it out of the car to confirm this.

The receiver and antenna are self contained in a very small box under the left kick panel. If you wanted to relocate it I might be able to help with a simple plug and play wiring harness. A good location would be the hard part to choose.

I predict the range to be greatest on the pasenger side since the Rx unit is behind a metal panel (rear of lf fender). Be interesting to test. Think I'll have to find a large vacant lot to try this. Gosh, now ya got me wondering how many stories up it'll work at.

Here's a link to a thread with a pic of the receiver so you can see what it looks like and the size.

Check post #41.
