Hello,

I recently lost my Mem1 Key fob but still have my mem2. I'm looking to buy another key fob and saw a listing on ebay for a Mem2 key fob. According to the seller, it doesn't matter if I have another mem2 keyfob and it's all about how I program my key fobs. Is this true?

IMHO- I would specifically look for a mem1fob.

i think the chip in the mem 2 would still read as mem 2.. thats why theres key 1 and key 2, instead of just 2 keys..

but i think you should use this opportunity to get the switchblade key.

ok how many people drive your car, if you are the only one, then you will use either one of 2 as your primary key

what I mean is in my case both key 1 n 2 have the same seat and mirror settings so it doesn't matter which key I grab out the door

You HAVE TO HAVE a key fob 1 and 2. I looked on Ebay Sunday because I have two key fob 1's for some damn reason and I tried to program them as a 1 and a 2, no luck. On the TL, you have to have a driver 1 and a driver 2 key fob, no matter what the "Power Sellers" on EBay tell you.

Thanks for all the responses. I had a feeling the 'power seller' was just trying to make a sell. I'm glad I asked you guys first.

I so want the switch blade key but I think I'm gonna hold off for now.
