Key cutting/programming in DC Area
I need an 04'TL key so I went to the Acura dealer in Bethesda and they wanted $50 for the key plus $50 to program it (which sounds like a rip off to me). I got a blank key from ebay and I was wondering if anyone in the Washington DC area knows a locksmith or dealer that will be able to cut/program the key for a reasonable price.

locksmiths here charge 5 dollars for cutting, 60 to program the immoblizer, and 30 for the remote. The Remote is easy to program, you can find the instructions on www.switchbladekeys.com under missing documents.

RC51Ryder, do you know of a locksmith that will do the cut/programing in the DC area?
I went to Chevy Chase Acura on Saturday: after quoting me on the phone that this was a quick job and they will charge me 1/2 hour of work ($50), when they sow me coming with my key they wanted $100 to program it. I told him about the quote on the phone and he said "yes, it's going to take like 15 minutes, but we are going to charge you for an hour of work" with a straight face. I really don't understand these dealers and how they treat customers. I guess their experience is that Acura drivers don't mind to get ripped off in general? They way they treat people that are a little more conceous and do a little reasearch is not acceptable.

These dealers are rip offs for this . I need another key and I can get the key from e-bay for $15 but i'm not paying them $75 for programming . I got to call a locksmith and check it out . I did the key fob myself from e-bay and programmed it easily .
