Driving style; transmission type; and road conditions all do have a bearing. Only noticed it several times on my 05 TL 5AT and not as bad or as often as previous Integra GSR but that was a 5MT. Don't know when the last time I read a car review about any FWD car that did not mention torque steer....

I've done a tour of duty with torque steer and the TL is not bad at all.
As a reformed "Saab nut", I had a '79 900T and an '83 900T and both had plenty of torque steer. My 95 900S was better only because it had no balls. Thanks to GM for ruining a great Swedish car and causing me to look elsewhere. Always had an eye on Acura and I was damn close to getting an Integra GSR in '95. I think I would be in jail now had I got that car. But since GM killed the Saabs so badly I now am a happy TL owner. Lots of fond Saab memories though.

BTW - Great Avatar.

I run my TL hard very often. Ive floored it many times, and i must say the only time i felt a descent amount of Torque steer is when i was on a choppy uneven road, acclerating from stop. even when i pushed it hard in these types of conditions, it was easily controlled. I dont know who is overrating the torque steer of this car, but it is very annoying.

I test drove the 5AT TL with my mom at the dealership. She didn't notice anything, nor did I. For some reason, my '96 2.5TL with 170lb-ft of torque has worse torque steer.

The 6MT TSX I drove didn't feel like it torque steered at all. On the other hand, when I drove a 6MT Accord V6 I felt it!

I don't know what you people are smoking if you think this car doesn't have torque steer.

I really like my a lot don't get me wrong, but my past 5 cars have been AWD, and this thing is torque steer city. The steering wheels pulls every which way when the tires loose traction (which is very often). I gotta say this is my first FWD car, I've only owned RWD and AWD cars. This is a new experience for me.... not bad, just new.

Well, I have used both Michelin Pilot Sport A/S and Pirelli P Zero Neros on my 6MT and the torque steer/limited slip effect is definitely there when accelerating hard from a stop and turning. I have also spent significant time in 5AT TLs and noticed much less torque steer in the exact same situations. Still, it is something you learn to live with and a tradeoff I am willing to make to stay with a manual and this level of hp.

Try any current 3.5L Altima or Maxima and you'll think the TL has NO torque steer.

My 02 TL-S torque steers more than my 04 TL. However, the 04 TL does torque steer, but it is not as bad as people make it out to be IMO.

OK, if that's what people are saying then yeah I believe you. I've never driven the new Maxima so I have no comment. Seems like some people almost elude the TL doesn't have torque steer. If that's the case then you've been driving high powered FWD cars for too long and have become numb to torque steer.

I think with the amount of power this car has, and other cars like the Maxima.... they really need AWD is the power goes any further up. If this thread is purely a comparison to other cars, then I have no comment because I have virtually zero experience with FWD cars.

I believe that it's not as bad as some other cars with as much power, but it really depends on your perspective. I'm used to AWD, and I think this car torque steers like crazy. I do have the 6-sp, and I understand the auto is not as bad.

The people that make it out like this car doesn't have torque steer are smoking somthing.

I use to think the torque steer was over rated, but after a year and a half with my 6mt it really is my only complaint. Now I'm no speed racer, but I do enjoy the twisties and for the most part the torque steer is non existent, but on those occasional slow corners, poor surfaces, or when the front end is light the torque steer can bite, especially if I'm distracted or only driving with one hand (I know my driver instructor always said use two hands) and for the most part the one handed driving style has lead to not being able to control the car during these encounters. On several occassions I have found myself in the oncomming lane or heading for the ditch, fortunatley for me the lane has always been clear.

The TL is a great car but if it had rear wheel drive it could really could be in the running for the ultimate driving sedan.

Before the TL, I had a 2000 Prelude with 200hp on a lighter car... The torque steer was MUCH worse. Both cars are manual. I rarely have to compensate for torque steer on the TL. On the Prelude I found myself doing it often.
