Check your weather reports. I haven't bothered getting anything other than a drive-thru wash because the weather has been so up/down lately.

I also have street parking so my car gets watered in the middle of the night sometimes. The trees on my block like to jizz all over the street too.

I mean it bothers me but at least I'm comforted knowing the wax is protecting it.

Everytime I wash and wax my car, it seems that a landscaper mows my neighbor's lawn, and ruins it.

weekly washes? leaves from the trees are the least of your worries...how about sap and pollen? car cover or a garage.

hell i wash the cars twice a week sometimes in the spring b/c of the pollen and sap. ONR wash, FTW!!

I love when it rains right after a wash.

makes me proud that I did a great job, I love watching the water bead up and drip down the car.
Plus, she'll be the prettiest one in the rain.

if you're doing weekly washes, it shouldnt be a big deal and you get to look forward to next week's wash day.

Ive never done twice in a week, like the young lady above me has, shes dedicated.

I hate when I walk out from work to find my recently clayed and sealed car look like this...

Then again, that's exactly why I sealed it. Luckily when the salt truck drove by me in parking lot after work, I think the packed on snow and ice protected me from the salt spray.

Luckily, its a comfy 60 degrees in the TL's bedroom lol.

You're complaining about it raining within four days after washing? I only wish I lived somewhere it routinely went four days without some form of precipitation.

Got a drive-thru wash today and left with some new scratches on the hood.

No rain for at least 10 days as of now though.

Sorry to hear about that, but thats what happens when you go through a carwash. There is no telling what kind of junk is stuck to those things. I can only imagine all the kind of shit stuck on cars that people take through those washes.

Touchless ones are only marginally better. You never know what kind of harsh chemicals they use in their soap, not to mention they never seem to completely rinse off all of the aforementioned soap.

Agreed. The chemicals are indeed hard on the clear coat with regular use, and the automated dryers suck on all of them. Although usually a day or 2 after a big snow storm ill go through one, only because its too damn cold to wash the car at home.

im amazed at how you east coasters deal with the weather....what do you do when its so cold? does everything shut down? how do you start your car? batteries get very weak when its so cold.

last winter here in socal when it hit about mid 30's F, everyone was freaking out about how cold it was

^^they freak out just the same.

depending on where, when it snows....forget it. there isn't an infrastructure here that supports snow removal hence the whole area shuts down over a couple of inches. rain...people drive like it's snowing. there are plenty of people in my area that seemingly don't know how to drive in an urban setting. they drive 40 on the hwy when the speed limit is 55 and seasoned driver's are hitting 65-70. it's kind of scary. this is in broad daylight with not a cloud in the sky too.

so. cal....rain...y'all freak out too. or you guys drive crazy in it.

it went from the 70's, sunny here yesterday to the 20's with snow this morning. Was on the beach, swimming in the ocean and today I have the heat on to get the chill out. Temps going back up to the 70's this weekend. When I lived in NJ/PA for many years I learned to deal with the temps in the single digit. Would take our vehicles thru car washes often to get the salt off the car especially the underneath parts.

Not an east coaster here, but its funny you say your amazed at how we deal with cold lol. Like what do you even mean? Same way people deal with 100 degree temps. Your car doesnt really care whether its 100 degrees outside or 10 degrees. It starts the same, the car doors open the same, you still turn your key to start your car lolol. You can still breath
I always laugh when you hear of someone from a warm climate say people freak out when it gets into the 30's. Sounds like a bunch of vaginas. If you think 30 degrees is cold, then you really have no idea what real cold is. I have a few co-workers that are originally from North Dakota. They tell me cold stories that would make even a Chicagoan say holy shit.
BTW, its a beatiful sunny morning here in Chicago, and my outside thermometer says 19 right now....and no one is freaking out. Shits no different than when it was 70 the other week, well except that you should probably wear a coat

lots of times a bird or seagull seems to like to bless my car not too long after I have washed it. I deal with it-along with the pollen and other things. I know pollen is only around for a few weeks.

just today it was 90F! lol a warm week here in socal. I do want to experience a real winter sometime in my life though, I dont think I've ever been somewhere where it's lower than 20 F, and that was here in the socal mountains.
