Just got a TL Type S

So I am going to pick up my new 08 TL Type S in Carbon Bronze Pearl. I got it for $36,000. I am so excited and I cannot wait to get it tonight. This is gonig to be the nicest car I have ever owned. I am making a huge step up from my 2000 Ford Focus ZX3.

I was debating between a Lexus IS350 or the TL Type S. I was able to get the TL Type S for about $7,000 cheaper then the IS350 with pretty much the same options.

I am looking forward to finding lots of info on this forum.

Mike

That was the lowest price I could get. I went to 2 different dealership and that was the best price. The Type S is in short supply in the San Diego area. I would have liked to have gotten it for around $35,000 but I am pretty happy with the price I paid.

I'm in the same boat. But the interior of TL sold it for me even thought IS350 handles a lot better.

Congrats and you picked a great color!

Did you get a manual transmission? If so, then I know why you paid a slight premium.

In any event - enjoy the car!!

Congrats on the new car and welcome to the forum. You will be able to find an amazing amount of knowledge about your new car here. I just bought my TL'S right before Christmas. I paid 34900 so I think you did pretty well. This is the nicest car I've ever owned, coming from a 02 focus zx5. Happy motoring!!!

Don't mind the look but the Corolla interior sort of a turn off.

$36,000 was the price of the car. I could not find the Carbon Broze Pearl with Ebony interior anywhere else by me. I am just happy I was able to find it. The other dealership I went to was only going to go down to $37,500 for the same car. I problably could have kept pushing and get it a little cheaper but I am happy as long as I pay as few thousand less then MSRP. MSRP was a little more then $39,000.

Nope no a spec, just a regular Type S. I want to leave work right now and pick it up. When I talked to the sales person earlier he said it was all ready to go and it has just under 4 miles on it. I cannot wait for that new car smell.

lol, what kinda bargain hunters do we have here...hahah it's not a bad price MSRP is 38,225, invoice is 35,117..so they made about a grand off of him...it is not the BEST deal out there but over 2 grand off of what they were originally asking for a brand new car isn't bad eather...

when i was shopping for my tl i wasn't that fortunate in the price cutting...the reason being was that there was only one dealer in nevada...i had no other place to go...also i wanted a 6mt, and the whole dealer had 2 of them, a black one and a white one, i didn't want the white one so they saw i had no choice whatsoever...the only car that i want to buy...there was only 1 of in the entire state.

i still got about a grand off msrp but i knew they wud go no farther because they will always sell a black 6mt...they wud of given me about $500-1000 more off for the white one but i didn't want it...besides, my TL was a high-performance tire model too vs the WDP was not.

Never driven an IS350, but all I've ever heard is that the handling is a . Skidpad #'s for 3G Type-S= .91g (Road and Track). Skidpad #'s for IS350=Anywhere from .84g-.88g.

I think you made the right choice.

I test drove the crap out of the is350 because I was torn between the two. I even warned our family friend who is a manager at a local Lexus dealership and he said go for it. I will have to say the type s handles better and is more responsive under very aggressive driving.

Even with discounts I couldn't get a navi is350 near 36k so I went with the type s. Never looked back even though my.is is reporting is350's in the mid 12's now with specific mods. We're still trying to break mid 13's with our tl-s's.

Congrats on your purchase
