Cool Just a farewell note..

I wanted to first say thanks for this great forum. It helped me alot when trying to figure out things on the TL, etc.

I have traded in the TL for something else as I just could not get accustomed to the type of car the TL is. It is a GREAT car, just ended up not being for me. It was especially obvious during long trips, but ahh well.

For those who would care, I ended up getting a newer version of what I traded in FOR the TL... 05' Pontiac Grand Prix GXP. 5.3L v8 powered and all. 2 totally different cars, but nice in it's own right.

Good Luck to all and have a great time in your TL's!

Peace..

RDSKN1

I looked at the Grand Prix when I was car shopping but I wasn't turned on in the least bit. Hope you have a better experience in the Grand Prix than you did in the TL.

I saw a review on Motortrend. Not too bad a car at all performance wise. One thing weird that was mentioned was that it had larger tires on the front versus rear. Yeah, I know it's FWD, but still, that's the first I have heard that a manufacturer equips the car that way from the factory.

Good luck with it.

Good luck. Considering the new employee pricing for everybody, what did they give you for trade in?

Good luck with your new purchase… but on the contrary, I have decided to stay in this forum, because I believe that there are many well informed people here I could learn from even though I just sold my piece of sheit 04 TL.

Congrats! Curious why the "TL" was not your type of ride? THe GXP is a steal at the price for a V8, just like my old 98' Taurus SHO. My father has a GTP with the 3.8 supercharged, he loves it.

I think it was a lemon, in which case most non lemon cars would be better, with a few exceptions.

At least his new Pontiac will have less rattles. My 00 Grand Prix w/ 56k has less rattles than my 05 TL w/ 1k. Wooo.

There's something about GM, especially Pontiac that just makes me shudder.

Appletartlet: Those less rattles wouldn't be because it doesn't run anymore, now would it?

Good luck with your new car.

As I have always said - Get the car that YOU want not what everyone else tells you to buy.

For example I have a 6 speed non - nav. The non nav goes against most of the nav posts in this forum but it was the car that I wanted.

Bummer the TL wasn't the car for you.
Hope you are able to enjoy your different choice though.

Thanks..

Thanks for those who wish me luck on the new car..

The GXP is not your average Grand Prix, which is the reason I got it. I wasn't into the new body style but they made some changes just for the GXP. The 5.3l V8 is great, as well as the 18" wheels, painted calipers, special shocks/springs, etc. It's a nice looking vehicle in it's own right.

As far as the mullet comment, that just shows the ignorance. Guess I should expect that from someone who lives in the same state as the Wolverines (Go Buckeyes!) .I thought I was quite polite regarding the vehicle this forum is for. I owned one, said it was a great car but just not for me in the long run.

I read about the GXP with the V8, and from what I got out of it, it's no stronger a performer than the TL 6spd. Anyone know official numbers?

Yeah and now the HUD has integration with the navigation system so it displays the turn comming up etc underneath the speed display.
