Just copped a TL!!

Hey what's up guys? After about three months searching and researching, a lot of it done at this very site in fact, I have purchased a 2004 TL. This is officially the first nice car I've ever had in my life after driving POS's my entire life.
I'm happy as a kid on Christmas! I got the 6 Speed manual with the Navi, and it's like I'm finally experiencing what driving a car is all about. First nice car I've ever had, so I take it to the car wash and sure enough what happens? It freaking rains!!! Ha ha ha, such is life I suppose.
I'll post pics when the site will let me, but I had a couple questions I was hoping some of you guys could answer for me. I haven't had the car five days and I've already caught the tinkering bug.
Fist off, I'm thinking carbon fiber hood, but haven't had any luck with finding images of them on actual cars... anyone out there got one, or a link to one? I'd like to see how they look before throwing down anywhere from $600-1000.
And also does the 2007+ tail light with the white in the middle fit?
And finally, seeing as how this is my first nice car, any advice on maintenance, care and love would be greatly appreciated. Thank guys and I'm looking forward to getting to know you everybody.

Welcome! Not sure about the carbon fiber hood, you could probably search about that. As far as the tail lights, they're all interchangable on 04-08 models. So yes, they will fit.

Congrats but beware of the initial tinkering bug, usually after a couple months your mind will have changed. Do some research and search for pics.

Glad to hear the tail lights fit, I LOVE the newer ones... but if I roll carbon fiber on the hood, maybe I should do the same on the tail lights. Hmmmmm there's a new thought.
It's silver and I can't post pics yet, at least that's what I thought I read in the rules...
It's silver, I posted pics on my facebook. www.facebook.com/Johnperrion

welcome- be sure to register as the new owner with acura care- 1-800-382-2238x5
need VIN for that- ask if any open recalls- those needing to be done,, and go to dealer if needed- they are free
register online too- http://owners.acura.com/registration...erstepone.aspx

look in Off Topic for wash and wax section, Members section has pics of cars for ideas on mods, there is a complete thread section just for performance stuff

I suggest a read of the owner manual cover to cover- this car has trick braking and throttle systems you need to understand- they think and act together trying to outdrive you in some cases~

Thanks for all the advice guys. Never would of even thought of calling Acura to register it...
The car didn't come with an owner's manual, but I did some looking around and bought one off ebay for like $45. Definately worth it.
Oh and Type One I bought it in UT, it stickered at $13,750 but I got them down to $12,800. Out the door was a little over $14,000. It's got 92000 miles on it. So I'm definately thinking I'm gonna need to do some major tuning up in a couple months when it hits that 100K.

Nice purchase! Welcome to Acurazine.

VIS makes CF hoods for the TL, and be sure to do the 105K scheduled maintenance (timing belt, water pump, etc.)

Welcome John! And yea, that "tinkering bug" doesn't go away, once you're on Acurazine. It only gets more extreme-enjoy!

Yeah, I'm thinking I'm gonna do all the maintenance this weekend... No harm in doing it early right? Figured it's better to spend my money on "important" things right off the bat, rather than cosmetic or performance.
As for the VIS hood, I saw they make em, really wanna see a picture of an install so I have an idea how it'll look...

Congrats on your purchase and welcome.
I have viewed personaly a black TL with A carbon fiber Hood and it looked like crap.
My recomendation will be to paint your hood black.
just take a look at the threads bellow

I've got the silver(don't know the 3 letter color code) TL I like the look of the black, don't know so much about it extending to encompass the grill, but it's purdy, specially with the black rims...
