Was getting ready to pickup my SSM/Ebony/Navi next week when the wife told me she "hated" the color (looked too blue?). Took her to the dealer today and she said she liked either the black or anthracite. Not that much of a problem since the anthracite was my close second choice to the SSM (the black was very nice but having owned a black car before didn't want the constant cleaning/waxing hassle). It serves me right for not bringing her along in the first place but hey its my car, right guys? Thankfully, the dealer had no problem with the switch and there will be no delay with the delivery. BTW, I think the anthracite looks better from behind (red tail lights work better with a darker color) while the silver looks better in the front (grill blends nicer with silver).

 

The NBP looks bluish. Well if you look closely, you can see the blue. The anthracite can look bluish sometimes at the right angle and lighting. SSM, anthracite, and NBP are all great colors. All the other TL colors are also great.

 

you will be happy with the AM, trust me....

 

i hav anthricite, looks great and can barely c scratches if any, altho i also lik ssm, its a great color!!! black is also a good color is washed and waxed good

Amen to that! The metallic shine of the Anthracite is really good. If I'm not mistaken its the best selling color for the TL.

Anthracite is a sweet color, that's what I have.....I do like silver too though, didn't then but it has grown on me........and black is a pain in the ass.

 

Silver rocks. It has understated beauty while showing the least amount of dirt and dust. The darker colors are very pretty but show every tiny swirl and scratch.

 

I initially was sold on the Antracite color, but saw a few on the highway last winter and wow! that car looks terribly dull with road dirt and wet slop on it. I then decided to nevertheless trade in my silver mettalic 02/tl for another SSM car and I am quite happy. Shows dirt less, always shines, the Quartz is a good change from the black interior I had. But most important the wheels are silver and match the color of the car.

Color though is a personal preference and if you like it go with it. Good Luck.

OK Guys .... Got the call that my car is in. I'm scheduled to pick it up on Monday (please don't snow). I'm excited, but I'm starting to doubt the color choice. Please reassure me that I picked the right one (AM BTW). I now this is really petty but I intend to live with this car for the next 5 or so years and I don't want to regret the choice. Received one piece of other good news. A friend called today letting me know my dealer is advertising 2.9% financing on all 05 sales (even though I already negotiated a decent rate of 4%). This will save me a couple of $ a month.

 

IMHO, AM looks real good; so does SSM.

I wanted SSM but already have that on my MDX. Ordered AM/Quartz w/ 4 week delivery. Went into dealer @ week 2 to check progress & possibility of early arrival. There was a ABP/Quartz sitting there that had just come in. Thought about it a few hours and went back and got it! Car looks/runs great.

Bottom line - They all look good, enjoy and don't look back. Just test drive and test everything before signing final docs. They will all get dirty and only look good as long as we take care of them. Enjoy the ride....

 

Satin Silver is by far the classiest color on the TL. I also love the fact that it hides dirt sooo well. I love the color so much that both my TLs are Satin Silver. My friends say I'm crazy for having two TLs in the same color, but I love the color THAT much......

 

Went to pick up my car today and was disappointed to find that it had more than several scratches on it. Some could be buffed out but others were too deep. Obviously I didn't accept delivery of the car. Dealer has offered to get me another AM or to take an SSM (or any color for that matter) off of lot along with some concessions to make the situation "right". Not the best buying experience but at least the dealer is being nice about it and is trying to make it better. One thing I noticed about the AM is that it shows scratches very easily. Other than that the AM is gorgeous. Will probably take the SSM and avoid the headaches. The SSM looks like its lower maintenance as well.

 

Sorry to hear that. At least you noticed them BEFORE you took delivery.

I like the look of both AM and SSM, but I have to many friends/relatives with sliver toned cars, so we went ABP. Come to think of it, there aren't really many color combos I don't like. I'm sure you'll love whatever color you wind up with.
