Just changed battery - radio codes?

I just changed the battery in my 2006 TL with Navi. When I started the car I got the message on the Navi screen "Enter Code". I entered the code for the Navi from my owners papers and it now works fine. I can't get the radio to work. My owners card shows a radio code number with 5 numbers and a serial number with 8 numbers. I enter the 5 digit number but keep getting the message "invalid code". How do I get the radio to work? Thanks. Steve

You should only need to enter your 5 digit code for the radio. Check your owner's manual leather case and maybe there is a business card size card with your codes on it. If that doesn't work, look for some white stickers on the outer side of the glovebox after you open it up- they should be on the edge that you can see from the driver's seat (left outer edge of glovebox)

You should see above the nav screen, a small screen that should say code. When you enter the 5 digit code for the radio, use the radio preset buttons on the radio. When you enter the 5th code, the radio will play if your code is correct.

With navi there are two codes, one for the navigation which is entered on the touchscreen and another for the radio that is entered via the preset buttons.

do you people ever try the owner manual for things like this?
Or try search feature--radio codes and where they may be secretly written down has been discussed 1000 times

Thanks for the responses guys. I had the correct radio code but didn't know you used the radio buttons to input it. I was using the Nav screen buttons. Radio works fine now. A whole afternoon without my XM wasn't fun.
