Just called Comptech

Talked to Comptech just now and verified that the exhaust system is done and they are expecting shipping next week. I ordered three sets for our dealership and will be putting it on my own 6MT nbp.
Will post photos once I have it installed.

round tips

Called back to verify...

Round tips and shipping MONDAY. I know there was a thread here about welding stock tips onto this exhaust, I think this would require a little more modification than some think. The exhaust opening on the stock tip is a smaller diameter than the comptech exhaust. There is a picture at comptechusa.com of a black Tl with their exhaust on it... It doesn't look half bad imo.

Could you link that picture with the comptech exhaust? I can't find it on their website anywhere. Also, it says to click on the Dyno heading for results. I don't see any dyno links anywhere!!

Nevermind, I found the pic. I didn't think it would be in the springs link. That TL looks seriously raked. Wheels in the back look at least 1" larger.

DC5 Integra,

Is that for two mufflers going from the cat all the way back??? Is that price installed? I am in Vancouver and maybe interested. Although, I don't like the round tips and does not match the car at all!!

those round tips totally ruin the look for the rear....only if they were the same shape as stock...

I think the Catback ? I dont know much about Exhaust. But crap.. it cost so much. I thought the price would be around 1,100. Installation charge would be pretty cheap I assume if you're ordering from them (Garage-Five).

I try to talk to Dave, i'll probably be in the market for more Comptech parts, for maybe Import Fest

I agree, it does look like the rear wheels are much bigger. So that others can see what we are talking about:
http://www.comptechusa.com/store/110155tl.html

Also, a price of $871 doesn't sound too bad (although still pricey). I got quoted a price of $1095 about three weeks ago. Please post your impressions once you have it installed on your TL. Thanks.

The piping is 2.5". The tips are 4" round rolled edge. It is a TIG welded stainless steel system.

for half the price or even less, can't you just get 2 magnaflow mufflers and have someone bend you a custom catback piping?? i know that mandrel bending is critical. to help compensate, can you just use a 3" pipe??

^^true, but i beieve everyone prefers comptech's exhaust for reasons other than cost. like complete stainless steel piping throughout the entire exhaust system, comptech's sporty exhaust note (which is like no other, it sounds amazing on my integra), its a perfect fit and is warranted by acura.

Comptech parts are usually an arm and a leg. That is not an excuse, but I'm hoping the price is due to R&D and because of fitment. This product should be specifically for the TL, and should have OEM fitment, plus a discernable (on a dyno) increase in power, with a pleasing sound.

Notice, I said "hopefully". Or it could just be corporate greed.

I happen to really like the round tip. I think it improves the look. I just hope the exhaust doesn't have a drone to it at idle or cruise.
