...just bought a TL Type S! NEED HELP!

Hello all! I just traded my 06 TSX Navi for an 07 NBP TL Type S AT and love it! The only remorse I have is that I purchased an extended warranty from the dealer (first time ever on my part...I do put mucho miles on da ridez!) Did I do the right thing from a cost perspective...5 years/100K extended warranty for $1010 in exchange for knocking another 1% off my 5 year financing (my feeble negotiating attempt) down to 3.85% apr. Is this a good price? Thanks to all...much luv!

That sounds like a good price to me. I didn't buy one for my TL, but I purchased the same coverage for my previous car (2004 Accord) and it also cost about $1,000.

The base coverage on the Acura is longer so you lose a little there, but the parts cost more than the Honda so I expect that on balance you did ok.

Enjoy your new car.

Well here are the lowest prices found so far on Extended Warranties...http://www.hondawarrantyinfo.com/acura/quote.php

(these are the prices I know of the top of my head)...you can get a 7yr/100k for $965 and a 8yr/120k for $1415

...thanks for all the responses! I guess I'll keep the extended warranty > btw it is a zero deductable deal as well. Thought I did good on the car deal as well as the price was $34,619 plus sales tax...$50 doc fee and 60 mo financing @ 3.85% apr. I am thoroughly enjoying this fine piece of automotive machinery. Thanks again!

Oops (clarification)...$34,619 was for the Type S...the $1,010 extended warranty I cut a check for out of pocket!

WOW! The internet manager said it was below invoice and I thought he was BS'in me...I thought it was right at invoice. It took 3 hours of negotiation in person to "make it happen." I thought they were going to get me on the doc fee...when that didn't happen, I thought I may have taken it ugly on the extended warranty (reason for the buyers remorse post- I have a 30 day opt out on the xtended warranty)...but I really love the Type S and knew I was in it for fairly cheap money (3.85% apr). For this price, I did not get any all weather mats, truck mat, etc thrown in and was treated with zero respect from their GM and finance director, but did get a very, very nice tint job!

The dealer would be more than happy to give you the TL-S for below invoice if they reamed you for your trade in. They will either make the money on the new car or the TSX.

Yeah...only got $24K trade in for my 06 TSX Navi w/17K miles...so that may be the differential. BUT...I got them to honor the sales price of the Type S WITHOUT the TSX in play if I wanted, but wanted the additional sales tax savings...I am sure the dealer made money...The TSX sits on their Certified lot for $26.9K!!
