Journey Back In Time - Restoring it back to New Car Mode

I have owned this car since the 8th of February and I absolutely love it. Its a 2005 ABP (Abyss Blue Pearl) 6spd, non-navi. It is everything I could have ever dreamed of. I have set up a little plan for myself in terms of maintaining/modding it. I will basically alternate between the two.

So far on maintenance.

1. drain/refill using GM Synchromesh Friction Modified. $12.95/quart. $45 for labor.
2. Purchased misc. parts that were missing from the car when I got it.
(i.e. battery cover panel, coin holder) $13 for panel. FREE for coin holder
3. I completely shredded a tire on one of our awesome New England winter pot holes which resulted in a cracked rim. I took this opportunity to replace all the tires on the car with Continental ExtremeContact DWS (135/45/17) $100 to fix cracked rim. $770 for tires+alignment

Now on to the Mods.

1. 20% tint. $220
2. LED license plate lights. FREE - had some extras lying around.
3. Infinty 1031t tweeter upgrade. $120. still haven't installed them. Just sitting in my room.
4. Infinity 3032cf center upgrade. $100. Also haven't installed it.
5. Going in tomorrow to get a custom box and beauty panel made for my 12w6v2. Its going to be pushed by an Alpine MRP-500. Total cost should be around $400

Future Maintenance.

1. Fix the random burned out bulbs on my steering wheel. Specifically the VOL and CH. toggles.
2. Fix whine coming from window vent.
3. Shifter bushings.
4. Shifter cables.

Future Mods.

1. complete interior LED retrofit using the whitest of white bulbs.
2. replacing stock D2S with some PIAA extreme something bulbs. Heard they were supposed to give 4300k output with a pure white color.
3. H&R Race Springs.
4. Concave 19" rims. Haven't started looking.
5. TL-S exhaust.
6. A-Spec kit. that will be towards the end.
7. Black vinyl front center grill bar. This will be done very soon

I will get pictures up very soon. Im just waiting for the weather to clear up and the roads to get less dirty so I can detail her.

Thanks for reading!

Good luck from a current ABP owner! You don't see many modded ABP tls around here. I told myself I wanted to do very small mods and keep my wallet happy but that wasn't the case, I still want to do more with this car everyday.

Im currently at High Fidelity Autosport in Newington CT. Just got my car in here and they started right away. They are a custom audio shop but will pretty much do anything you want them too. They love JL subs and Focal everything. They are also an authorized reseller for both so if you guys are in the area and need any audio work done, I highly advise them.

The website is: www.hifiautosport.com

The place where I got my wheel repaired was a small shop in Enfield CT called The Wheel Shop LLC. There are only two wheel repair shops in CT and they are owned by best friends. Very quick and clean work. Had me in and out in about an hour and the rim looked brand new. Unfortunately they don't have a website so I can't give it to you guys but a quick google search will give you the info.

I will have some "high quality" iPhone pics for you guys tonight when I pick up the car after work haha.

Yea give them a try. They are outstanding. They really love to go above and beyond for the customer. Everything will be built to spec and tuned. Their website doesn't show but they do a lot of high end cars such as porsche, lambo. They always have some sort of Benz in here hahah.

I have brand new rotors and pads. That was a relief that the dealership did them before I picked up the car. Saved me a pretty penny. Oil is at 80% right now. Good call on the air filters. I knew I was forgetting something. I have the next couple of days off so thats what I will be doing. Ive always been afraid to do a seafoam treatment on any car so I will have to think about it.

i'm liking the trunk setup man! if you don't mind me asking, what'd they charge to make the box/beauty panel, and what else did they do for you? speaker install? any sort of processor or amp install?

Thanks. I got everything for $400. That included a new box built to spec and the beauty panel. As far as wiring, all they did was relocate the ground because I half assed it. All the wiring was done by me. I don't feel comfortable have people take apart my car so I did that one myself hahaha.

Basically, I paid for Box, Pressure fitted beauty board, L bracket to hold box to back panel and thats it. The material used in the J L cutout is just regular speaker mesh. They just spray painted that portion of the box black to match the look. Its exactly how I envisioned it. Also leaves me alot of room to experiment with different colors and fabrics. I can have the whole system out in probably under a minute too so nothing permanent.

Im also going to them to have my grill painted. I haven't decided how thats going to look so you guys should give me some ideas hahaha.

The same design concept used on the beauty panel will be displayed throughout the whole car. A good balance between aggressive and classy. Low key but not a cop magnet. In other words....tasteful

Dope sub install!

Like you, I need to stop spending money on aftermarket shit and try to get my TL back to the way it was when it was new. I have random interior bulbs burnt out and shit.
