Iwas watching Speed Channel...

I was watching Speed Channel when they mrntioned "Time Attach Racing."
By coincidence, I have been wondering if there are any programs/events at North East road courses (Lime Rock, Watkins Glen), where I can take my new-ish TL.
These Time Attack races are exactly what I was looking for. Bascially, you complete laps on a road course as fast as you can w/o too many other cars on the track. You must wear a helmet.
1) Has anyone on this forum tried these Time Attack races?
2) If not, are there events opened to the puplic at north east road courses where I can take my TL and drive fast, but safely?

I know Watkin's Glen has something like that. I have a friend here that takes his Mitsubishi Eclipse to the Glen with the Porche club of Rochester. They get two days of instruction and racing. I really don't know that many details, but I would check there first.

Watch out for voiding your warranty if you go. When Subaru introduced the WRX in the US a few years back, they included a membership to the SCCA, then voided warranties of those people who actually used their SCCA membership. I don't think Acura reps have much of a presence at track days like Subaru did, though. Just something to think about.

I'd love some more info on this, espcially in NE. Anyone?

I know I have an older un-modded FWD sedan but hey, I'm sure the experiance is fun and valuable.

Make sure you put the stock rims with summer tires. 19's = not good for track.

The 19's are awesome for the track the car is more stable than stock and i have run the big rims before on other cars and they were fine.

Well, they are also harder on the engine and brakes, besides being more expensive. I have 18's on my car. The wheel/tire combo is just 5 pounds heavier that the stock's and the car feels slower and the braking is just not the same. Anyway, have fun, take pictures, and come back with a good story.

The 19's i have are the same weight as stock so i had no major issues. I had to change the brake fluid because the brakes over heated and i bought the car in just in time. changed to Motul dot 4 racing fluid NO ISSUES AFTER THAT.

THE GLENN WAS AWSEOME.

I plan on going to pocono in AUG
