Some may remember me here, and no I did not purchase another ridiculously low mileage Type S, but I found one that I want you guys to know about. Yes the thought went through my mind, but my Type S days are gone. As much as I still love the 3G, there is just so much out there now.
I know there will be guys saying it's not legit or whatever, but this is as close as you can get to a brand new 9 year old Type S in a rare color combo. 07 Type S MRP with Ebony interior, 4300 miles..yes 4.3! It's auto, but let's face it manual transmissions are a thing of the past, atleast with today's automatics I would love to pick up this Type S and give it a new garage to live in, but it just doesn't make sense ame I don't have 24 grand to out to something that I will just out in the garage and admire lol.
Dealership is Bellevue Scura in WA, he said internet price is 23.9 and they ship. If I were in the market I would have no problems buying this car site unseen. Look at the brakes, look at the inner wheel barrels, the seats....it's new! I do see a scrap on one wheel, but that's an easy fix, I wouldn't even be surprised if the dealer did that.

I can't imagine dropping anything over $15k on a 3G TL at this point...
Still what a find... 4,300 miles is crazy.

Like I said I would love to have that car, but money does matter to me, I already have a car that I love, and the wife flat out said do not even think about it LOL.
Nice to see you still around man!
Thanks man, nice to see ya!
Its funny, I was driving home from work last night in my 2015 which just turned 3,000 miles and I thought to myself, my recently purchased new car has almost the same mileage as that 9 year old Type S. I feel like I have barely driven my car and just got it. Its crazy to think that there are people that buy brand new cars only to literally park them. Its great for the second owner thats for sure.
Wow talk about a coincidence, I had no idea until scrolling through some pics on my phone, but it was one year ago to the day that my MRP 6mt Type S left to its new owner.

Wow crazy find I wonder what the story behind it is.
Automatic transmissions will never match the feeling of manually controlling your car no matter how good they get.

I have been looking into replacing my 03 TL-S with an 08 TL-S with 40-75K on the clock, but damn they seem expensive, for what they are. I guess that is the market though.
Car Max has had some decent ones lately but they are selling (how) for >$21K with mileage of 50-65K.

That is a rare find. Last time I saw the S in that color it had the full A-Spec kit on it and looked amazing. I think this color Type-S is harder to find than the KBP.

I agree. I see a ton of TLs around here because Marysville is so close. And this is certainly the color I see the least of. I see three different KBPs almost every day. Two on the way in, one on the way home. The two in the AM are both manuals. Both driven by some young punks.

Today's DSGs and even some of today's conventional automatics might be better from a pure performance standpoint than a manual, but unfortunately, the 3G TL has neither. Honda's new 6AT is decent.
Nice find for sure though.

I could watch this video over and over again. Never have I drooled over an automatic like this before:

06 Anthracite TL
That is a very cool, rare find. That said, it's a shame it was never really used by whoever owned it and it certainly won't insure for the $23.9 K asking price. As you indicated, it's still a 9 year old, (technically) non classic, non collectible car (not yet anyway). I don't regret giving my 06 to my brother as he's insanely happy with it and has already done some work to it (full brake job with new calipers in the back and new rotors and pads all around). I do miss it from time to time and would love to have this 07 Type S. The 3Gs were really great cars overall and the style is really spot on, even many years later.

And here i was thinking i was lucky lol. I just found me a 2007 acura TL base with 14k miles on it. The old lady who owned it had bad back problems so she had to sell it. Got it for 14k. Flawless inside and out. The back seats and front passenger is as if no1 even sat in it. I wanted this car since i 1st seen it in 2004. I traded in my 2005 tsx with 19k miles on it and got the rest of the money from a loan, thats how bad i wanted the TL. I just wish it was a type s. But i can sure make it look like a type s. LipKit.ca sells the kit for it for a crazy cheap price. My point is that some1 who always wanted a type s will get it. I choose to think about it like this, i got a brand new TL for 14k instead of 31-33k reguardless of it being 9 years old.

Justin, you need this Type S!
Yeah I know, you are definitely right. The 5at in the 3G is nothing to brag about, but it does get the job done. Some of the newer cars that just blow my mind as far as shifting...new Corvette Z06...it shifts so fast that it sounds like a video game. M3 BMW, any exotic etc etc. Like you said though even newer conventional automatics are pretty damn good. I love the 8spd in my new Grand Cherokee. It works so well that even using the paddle shifters is fun. That was a feature that I wouldn't even attempt to use in my auto Type S as it did nothing but frustrate me.
I could watch this video over and over again. Never have I drooled over an automatic like this before:

Great video-Corvette ZO6.....it's a beast! 81% of these cars were ordered with automatic transmissions.

The only way I would pay $23,900 for this car is if it had the timing belt service already done and it had the 6 speed M/T.
Other than that, it's gorgeous.
Glad to see that there are still TLs out there that haven't been beaten and abused and generally run into the ground.
Worth every penny of $18k - $19k, though (in my opinion, anyway).

I've always loved low mileaged cars and this is EXCEPTIONAL, but definitely too much a$king. My $0.02. Though I would feel a little bit better paying a premium to a private party as opposed to a stealership

Don't cut my throat for suggesting this, but... wouldn't it be bad for an 8 year old car to only have 4K miles on it? To me, that would suggest it was probably not started for long periods of time (thinking military deployment perhaps?). So when the owner comes home to get the car out of storage, he is cold starting it on 6 month + old engine oil, driving it for a short period, then back to storage. Granted, this is all hypothetical!
Also think about long term storage in terms of other critical fluids like ATF? I am not a chemical engineer but maybe someone else can step in and comment.

As far as long term storage, IMO it is MUCH more beneficial to let the car sit and NOT start it unless you are able to drive it for extended periods to get everything up to operating temp. I sort of cringe when I see someone storing a car, let the thing idle in there driveway for 30 minutes, then store it again. You do not want to do that and that's actually doing more harm than good...not only that but it doesn't even charge the battery which people think it does.
My previous car was a very low mileage 07 Type S that I bought in June of 2013 with 4,500 miles on it. Needed nothing and was 100% like new in every way. Even the original tires that were made in 2006 were fine. I guess it really just depends on how the car was stored. If the thing sat outside of a farm in Iowa going through hot summers and cold winters I would be a little concerned. Inside and garage and properly cared for I'll take it all day long.
