It's freaking hot out here.. without A/C

I took a few friends at work for a ride in the TL during lunch today and on the way back, the A/C didn't seem to be working. I tried Auto, manual, recirculate, everything, but nothing seemed to change it. I know it's how outside now (about 95+ F) but it still should have been blowing cold air.

When I got back to work, I turned of the engine and restarted it to see if that would help. The sound the car made when starting was not pleasant - it had some sort of brief clanking sound. I turned the car off and have not tried to start it again yet. We'll see/hear what it does at the end of the day. Has anyone else had anything like this happen?

Nope, but sounds like a trip to the dealer for you... :o

moeronn, I have exactly the same problem as you are having (A/C does not work and engine clanking sound while starting up and running). Having the car rest for a while will not help the things out as I have tried that already. My car will be sent into dealership tomorrow.

The car started up fine before I took it home. The AC didn't work right away, but after about 20 mins of stop and go, it finally kicked in. This sucks - I don't want to wait for it to happen again, but I also don't want to go into the shop and have them say "Seems to be working fine. There's nothing we can do."

I will let you guys know what dealer would say about my A/C problem. I have other issues on my TL that are needed to be checked by dealer at the same time. And I will insist to get a loaner car as my service would definitly take a while to be completed. My TL only has less than 2000 miles for 2 1/2 months.
