iPod integration in BMWs
Just found a press release from BMW and Apple dated June 21 2004:

So, it looks like there is some direct adapter for iPods that can be integrated into the BMWs sound system. The iPod plugs into an AUX jax that is accesible in the glovebox. Control over the iPod playlists is through the steering wheel controls and I assume the in dash radio as well. There also seems to be some sort of track info display on the dash as well, but no idea how much detail is shown. Price is $149, plus installation.

Wonder if we'll see a similar add on for the TL sound system in a joint Acura/Apple press release any time soon? Or if the current BMW system can be adapted for the TLs stereo?

Not available on vehicles with navigation system, CD changer, DSP cassette player or satellite radio. Installation performed by authorized BMW and BMW SAV centers only. Third-generation iPod (software 2.2 or later) or iPod mini (software 1.1 or later)
