Interior Questions

So its been some time since i've posted. I went in recently with my 2G TL to get an oil change and ended up leaving with an '04 TL SSM. My wife still reminds me that i am not allowed to take the care in for oil changes anymore.

I couldn't resist the good deal. So i have a couple of interior questions i hope you can help with.
1. I've read i can clean the leather with Woolite and water 5:1 ratio. Can i use this mixture on the seats, door panels, and center arm rest? I've read i have to follow with a leather conditioner and am researching the best now.
2. The previous owner/idiot must have sprayed Armor All on the gauges and the left and center platic has spots on it. Tried numerous things before buying PlastX cleaner from Meguiars. Put it on yesterday twice rubbing it in well and the spots are still there. Any ideas on how to remove the spots? Where else can i use the PlastX to clean and protect? Headlights? Display for non-Navi?

Thanks for any advise.

You may want to re-post this in the "Wash and Wax" section. Some knowledgable people hang out in there. As far as the Woolite, I believe it's a 10:1 ration on the mix and you can use it on all your leather.
I accidentially got some 303 Aerospace cleaner on my old TSX's clock display and it also made the makes your talking about. I was never able to get it removed or polished over. Mine wasn't too bad and I lived with it. Again, something to ask the experts about. GL. Oh, and welcome to AZ

Use scratch-x to get the spots off the gauges. It worked for me when I got Aerospace 303 on them.

You're going to need something that can cut into the plastic to remove the spots in all likelihood. Scratch-X is such a product. The problem is that whatever got on there reacted with the plastic and caused it to cloud up. You have to remove that bit of cloudy plastic to make it clear again.

As far as leather conditioner goes, I'm very happy with the Lexol products. I like that they don't make the leather shiny and it smells like... leather.

Woollite 10:1 for "normal" cleaning; 5:1 for stubborn/extra dirty. Use anywhere/everywhere.

Navi screen is glass. Try Stoners Invisible Glass.

If the scratchX doesnt work you could always try wet sanding it like people do with their cloudy headlights...

Thanks for the tips/advice. I'll try another application of the PlastX to see if i work it some more maybe the spots will come out. I did notice today that half the spots did disappear while some are still evident.
Will clean everything with the Woolite and grab some Lexol to condition.

Wow, that's ballsy, I was afraid to use a "glass cleaner". I went out and bought Monster LCD Screen Cleaner for the Nav screen. $20 for a 10 oz. bottle and a microfiber cloth. Boy do I feel stupid.

As for the Amor-all spots, good luck. The longer they are there, the harder they are to get off.
