???Interior Cleaning Tips???

Fellow 3rd Gen TL owners,

Anybody know the best product to clean the dashboard? The dash is not the ordinary vinyl material, almost rubber, which I guess is better in preventing damage from the sun. But how should I clean it???

...and the NAVI screen? Is it safe to use a computer monitor cleaning solution?

...also, how often should I condition the leather seats???

...Thanks

3M Aerospace...it's the only product that's good for everything...buy it...use it...love it! BTW...condition the leather every few months and you should be OK...you can even use the 3M stuff for that, but I use either Lexol or Townsend leather conditioner for my seats.

great recommendations

armorall tends to attract dust...but aerospace is a great product for dash boards. the leather should be conditioned with townsend if you wanna spend a bit more

I noticed the difference in the material as well and that it looks dirty unless you treat it with a conditioner. I use Griot's vinyl and plastic conditioner and it works great!

Oh, and I would stay away from Armorall .. it gives off way to many fumes and I've found over time it will actually damage the permanent finish of plastics and vinyl.

I use VinylX for the dash and the like.... and the Meguirs Leather cleaner for the seats and other leather items...

I haven't been able to find the 303 stuff or I'd use that.... I didn't feel like ordering it to be delivered! LOL

As for the ArmorAll... Drop it like its contagious and get something else!!! I've heard nothing but bad things about it.

Here's a link to the 303 Dealer Locator on their website .. good info, it shows who has it, what exactly they carry and has a map feature ..

Depending if you want a shiny look at the dash or not, you can use Armorall. For the Nav screen I use eye glass cleaner with a silk wipe. Works great. For the leather, Lexol seems to work the best. G'luck!

Wraith, go to their site and do a Retail Search. I typed in Pittsburgh and they came up with 5 Retailers. Check it out, there may be one close to you.

Awesome guys... THANKS... Points for both of you...

The one Ace Hardware is like 1 mile from me.... LOL

Quick question. Does the 303 make the dash shiny??? I like the slight matte sheen of the dash as it came from the factory... Too shiny is no good (to me).

THANKS for the info!!!

I just picked up the 303 stuff on new year's eve and used it on the weekend. Great stuff! And, no, it doesn't leave the dash shiny. Looks just like new. Okay, our 05 is only 8 weeks old, so suppose it really should still look like new...

Yep...303...sorry about not being more specific. I've used it on leather in my home, but Townsend is a better leather specific product and I use it on my TL seats, but it's a little pricey. ABSOLUTELY stay away from Armorall....it's true it will actually do damage after time to plastic and vinyl...bad stuff!!
