An interesting weekend

On sunday, after the tropical storm passed over New Jersey. I took a ride down to the Jersey shore. On the parkway, a blue WRX pulled aside me and we both went at it. 3rd gear dead even. when we hit forth, he pulled like 1 1/2 cars and kept pulling. I dunno what he had in his car but I was like shit. ( visible mods: exhaust , front mount intercooler, drop, rims). ON the way home a g35 tried his luck, but lets just say it rans out a little too soon. a g35 and a S/C TL is not contest as the g cant keep up.

On monday, a BMW 330ci pulled up asside me and I pulled an instant 2 1/2 cars in 3rd. down the road, another modded WRX joined us. the WRX , I was barely able to pull away from.

Ill tell you those modded WRX's are nasty and should not be taken lightly.

Damn..I wonder what that WRX had..When I see one with a aftermarket intercooler I tend not to mess with them.

One should not take any boosted Subaru lightly unless you know what type of work was done on it.

As I have my Maxima tuned at Turbotrix, I have seen my fair share of WRXs (and Evos) that dispell the 'no top end' myth. The few WRXs with FMICs that I have come across could give Terminator drivers fits.

I know that the AWD does not exactly make much of a difference especially with those turbo charged cars. those things can produce alot of power. I was just wondering why he was even in 3rd and then just busted out in front in 4th like that. i was thinking he was spraying! btu who knows. maybe i just got smoked.

I don't even bother with AWD or turbo charged sedancs anymore. Got my ass handed to me on a silver platter by a Stage two turboed Subaru Legacy GT. The guy was very nice and I actually got in touch with him and he had so much work done to his car. That's my next ride That and a newer TL-S !!!!

Question

I wonder if I the 03TL-P would have a chance after a S/C install.

STi's run low-mid 5's and keep up with M3's. I doubt youll be able to keep up at all with our mid 6's.
